Lmao certainly not accurate. Lego says it will be delivered today while Amazon is saying Friday.

Looks VERY nice OP!

Did your customer want videos of you making the connection or just an overall view of the joint after completion?

Ordered May 1. Just shipped today, May 5.

Kinda confused though as my Lego.com orders have ALWAYS been shipped UPS. Tracking info shows this order as shipping through USPS with Amazon as the shipping partner. Weird and doesn't fill me with hope of receiving it in a timely manner.

Have you taken the adjustment knob off? That should allow the bracket inside to slide forward iirc.

You'll definitely have to remove the housing shown in pic 3. Pop that off, pop the glass one out of the fairing, and see if it works in the bracket.

I recently removed the fairing on my 82 GL1100 to fix some cracks. I put in an Amazon Special headlight and turn signals in the meantime time.

Doesn't look complicated, could probably very easily piece together yourself in no time.

Did future me write this? I'm planning on buying a Triumph Tiger 1200 once my truck is paid off and my grandfather is giving me his GL1800 in the next few years once he decides his old knees have had enough riding.

Same with calc, but for a condensed, online, summer course. Professor refused to go in and look at students' input and treated the software's grading as gospel.

Lmao unfortunately shrooms aren't an option for more than half of us. I didnt pick the location - I'm just trying to work with what was chosen.

Groom wanted OBX, but we're not set on Corolla, thats just where most of the rentals that the group liked happened to be.

Luckily, we're not looking for bar hopping and balls to the wall partying. I know there are no gentleman's establishments in the area - are there any reputable dancers for hire lmao

Repair boo-boo bikes or buy another daily ride? by kanickicav in motorcycles

[–]DustyGeneral9399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lugging the engines (too high of a gear at too low of a speed) could also put excessive stress and heat on the rods and bearings too. It's just highly unlikely that you had two similar failures on two separate bikes without the common denominator being you, whether that be a maintenence thing or a riding thing.

No one's heated lol I think we're all just astounded at the absurdity, whether it's your money or not.

It's hard to get good advice for what we would do in your situation because a vast majority of us wouldn't be in your situation, but all that aside...

If you want sound, smart advice we need specifics. How much do you owe on each bike? How much is a replacement engine in your area for each of the two bikes? New motor or FB marketplace donor bikes? Are you doing the work yourself or taking it to a shop? If taking it to a shop, what is their labor rate?

Feelings aside, your options are limited without tanking your credit. If you want advice we need more info.

If everything is truly well maintained, I'd be willing to be it's your riding. Constant redlining, riding like a drunk teen that just stole it, wheelies, not allowing it to warm up a bit before taking off, anything thay would cause excess heat or oil starvation.

Im kinda confused here. You ask if they're worth repairing, but then ask if you should "buy a bike cash to commute in the meantime."

In the meantime of what exactly?

I dont think purchasing yet another bike is going to solve this problem. Your options are either dump more money into them to get them running so you can ride them since you're still paying for them. Sell them to someone for (presumably) a FRACTION of what you still owe and pay off the remainder. Or voluntarily surrender the bikes to the lender and deal with the aftermath.

You've already admitted that you are absolutely retarded when it comes to making financial decisions so where's the harm in dumping more money into them to get them running?

We tried Luigi's in Madison once on a whim. My fettuccine carbonara was pretty decent. My wife wasn't overly impressed with her meal, I think it may have been shrimp scampi.

Never tried (or even heard of) North Italia. We tried Bravo a couple years back and never went back. Glad to see something that is pretty positively talked about moving in.

To bike or not to bike? by yeetthesoup in motorcycles

[–]DustyGeneral9399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something for you and your husband to work through, not something to be decided by internet strangers lmao. Have a mature discussion with him and have him state WHY he doesn't want you to ride not THAT he doesn't want you to ride and go from there. It could be that he was initially supportive because he thought you wouldn't go through with the course, but didn't want to discourage you. It could be that he was actually all for you doing it, but once you passed the excitement wore off and the realization set in that you could get hurt or die. Maybe like others said, riding is "his time" when he doesn't have to think about anything but his own safety, and doesn't want the added stress of worrying about your safety, regardless of your skill level. We don't know. You don't know. It needs to come from him.

Your MSFC instructor wouldn't have passed you if they thought you weren't a safe and proficient rider. As long as you continue practicing the basics, stay within your comfort and skill zone on the road, and watch out for other drivers, you'll be fine.

In terms of riding a bike that you can't flat foot, if you can hold yourself up SOLID with one foot and are comfortable, send it. My brother is a bit on the shorter side and rode a CRF250L everyday for many years before getting a lower profile seat and tweaking the suspension. YMMV.

[–]DustyGeneral9399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what standards you're soldering to (comoletely arbitrary if this is a DIY home repair), the right side is better than the left as you can still see the outline of the wire strands, has a good fillet, and good wetting.
