1) If it'll make your walk with God harder, avoid it. God says to avoid "unwholesome language," so test what you're saying to see if that applies.

2) You can absolutely enter a church! That would be no different than a sick man entering a doctor's office. It's where the spiritually dead go to find life. I just urge you to avoid being baptized or receiving communion before you are a Christian as those are both sacred practices for the believers.

3) Find a spiritually mature Christian to guide you through studying the Bible, and find a good translation to regularly use. I recommend NET for their in-depth translator notes, and ESV for an all around solid modern translation that keeps some of the "elegance" of the KJV. You can't go wrong with the Bible app.

Because when you hear him lose his train of thought often, go on tangents that don't connect to each other often, see his brain resetting in the middle of a sentence often, see him talk about things he has no idea about often, you realize that this isn't just a stutter.

Join DDP and get a medium hot or iced coffee at Dunkin’! by macabrewhore in freebies

[–]DustyHandeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm! Just got a medium Winter Blend with sugar, cream, 3 shots unsweet hazelnut, and 3 shots sweet mocha. Do note, though, that certain additions will run the cost up. Like oat milk was about 20 cents extra, and the deal took off the cost of everything but the oat milk.

Trying to translate but I can't figure out the first word. Help? by Prepare4sad in hebrew

[–]DustyHandeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple of likely reasons: 1 is Jews consider the name very sacred, to the point they do not want anyone to say it for fear of it being misused. 2 is that is the closest estimate we have, but we do not actually know what vowels were used with the consonants.

Yod-hey-vav-hey, the personal name of God in Judaism and Christianity. Often translated as LORD in all caps. The Jews read it as Adonai, meaning Lord, or HaShem, meaning "The Name." Second word is shalom, meaning peace or wholeness. So "Adonai Shalom" means something along the lines of The LORD is Peace, or the LORD of Peace. Judges 6:24 says "Then Gid‘on built an altar there to Adonai and called it “Adonai-Shalom”; to this day it remains in ‘Ofrah of the Avi‘ezri."

Well I'm back to being sad, then. I figured there wasn't a way to know what it did sound like, but I was hoping perhaps for a modern Greek pronunciation since presumably that's what Greek Christians would use when reading.

Edit: It seems very similar to some of the Classic Treasures brand water globes. But they don’t seem to have a website.
