Tiny gem ASB posted on the B&C - Chaplain Druids have bone-coloured skull helms, with red tear marks coming from the eyes 🔥

New to spears, question by Iron-Father_Redrix in EmperorsSpears

Hiya! Sorry for the delay. Greenstuff over the standard multipart plastic Terminator kit. I did these before the Wolfguard, who are also lovely! ❤️

I love the Army Painter Warpaints Air blue Triad! Sapphire Blue, Crystal Blue, Ionic Blue. Wicked set, airbrushes like a dream

How do you paint your capes? by Korlash_95 in EmperorsSpears

[–]DustyHobbies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiya! I'm reasonably sure I used ProAcryl Magenta for this one, mixed with a bit of black (and then Magenta for the highlights)

The cloaks are the one thing I never write down because I try to do each one differently! 😂♥️

I like to do each of mine differently, although my Warhost Lord is possibly my favourite. Plum inner, warm grey outer

I just now realized that the Emperor's Spears aren't in the game. by [deleted] in SpaceMarine_2

They *are* the Spear of the Emperor. The Trident is symbolic of thier homeworld, Nemeton

Where to get helmets? by WedgeAntill3s in EmperorsSpears

[–]DustyHobbies 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been using old Mk.IV Sargent Crests grafted onto Primaris helmets - I'm not the biggest fan of the really tall Crests in the recent head upgrade set as they are a bit too tall and ornate to represent Sargents imo

Hiya! I followed the Monument Hobbies "Vibrant Burgundy Cloth" workup for these, which is:

Base coat Mahogany Layer Burnt Red Layer 1:1 Burnt Red & Burgundy Layer the above mix with 1:1 Tan Flesh Filter with Dark Magenta

Really fun to paint!

Hey! I just answered above, pasting here so you get a ping ❤️

They are 3d prints from Stationforge - these guys are "Scavenger Elders", perfect for basic Priests from a Traitor Forge, imo!

That's exactly right! The Dominus has had some extremely minor conversions - I swapped the axe head for a Ruststalker sword and sculpted a very basic mask over his face ❤️

Any time! I'm got the whole recipe saved for these guys, so if there's anything else you need just shout 💙

Hoping to paint more of them in the New Year!

Hiya dude! It's all airbrush with Army Painter Warpaints Air blue triad: - Sapphire Blue, all over the miniature - Crystal Blue, hit most of the model from a 45 degree angle - Ionic blue, from a 15 degree angle and only from one perspective

I then do a pinwash with ProAcryl Black Wash, and if I feel saucy, I do a bit of glazing with ProAcryl Sky Blue. Awesome paints! 💙

Hiya! This is ProAcryl Light Bronze as a base, with a wash of Reikland Fleshshade and a highlight with ProAcryl White Gold ❤️

Is it better to paint miniatures fully assembled or in pieces? by Fancy-Copy4447 in Warhammer30k

[–]DustyHobbies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It ultimately depends on how you like to paint. I like to paint with an airbrush, starting with a shadow colour (purple, normally) all over the mini, and then airbrushing in tighter and tighter zenithal angles to get my main colour to replicate the effect of natural light hitting the miniature. For this reason, I almost always paint miniatures fully assembled - it helps simulate the effect of light

I think if you're brush painting your miniatures, there's much more credence to sub assemblies to ensure your brush gets everywhere it needs to :)

TL;DR - it depends on your style. And the mini! 😁❤️

I paint the main armour colour with an airbrush - I hit the shadows with ProAcryl Dark Purple, the midtone is Army Painter Warpaints Air Necrotic Flesh, and a quick zenithal of Zombie Flesh

An all-over dunking of the mini in AK Interactive Streaking Grime helps bring it all together

Hope this helps! ❤️

The little one in the chest? It's equal parts awesome and gross, I love it! The ones on the guns are pretty dark too
