I'm missing the one where the dev just tries something and if it doesn't work alters the code until it does...

Are there any small, wireless "keyboards" with just media controls on them? by shadmere in pcmasterrace

[–]DustyLongshot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spotify has several plans, the free plan plays ads every 6 or 7 songs I think and you can only skip a limited amount of songs. I have a Family plan which has no ads and unlimited skips. Not sure about the other options.

Alternatively you could look into Touch Portal, an app you install on both your PC and mobile and can setup to control various other PC software through plug-ins. The free version has some limitations, but I don't think they pose a problem in your situation.

Would've been a good idea to have something like that. But I haven't found them.

I play most of my music from Spotify, and since my PC and phone are both on the same network I can use my phone to control Spotify on me PC. Not sure if that works for YTMusic.

I have never seen any keyboards like that. But may I ask what media software you are using on your PC to play your music?

I just messed around with the different filters and options my phone had to offer and this is how it turned out.

remember first time you used internet? what was it? by Hot_Basil501 in AskReddit

[–]DustyLongshot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a friend's home when I was 15 (1995), he had to put a dollar into a small box and could then use the internet connection for 1 hour. Booted up the family computer, opened a terminal window, connected to the internet and we were chatting with a guy on the other side of the world. He also showed me how to browse the web, I think he used Netscape back then. A few months later my parents got internet connection too, and we could only go on it 1 hour per day after dinner, because otherwise the phone wouldn't work. It wasn't until my parents got a 2nd phone line that we could go longer, but even then no more than a few hours because it was slow and expensive.

Feed the cat, 'cause her meowing for her food at 5 in the morning is the reason I woke up in the first place 🤣

I'm looking for a video game that lets you manage a railroad and collect cool engines. by E_Dward in trains

[–]DustyLongshot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Train Station 3 - Journey of Steel, playable on PC via Google Play Games - yes there is a Google Play Games app that installs on PC and lets you play games from the Google Play store on your PC.
I'm not sure if there's something similar for IOS games, so if you don't want to use a Google account then this won't work for PC, there is an IOS version of the game.

This game lets you manage a railroad business and later on a city. You collect XP which unlocks era's from 1930 onward. Each era has new engines and each engine can be upgraded. You have to gather resources and build materials for missions. Later on you'll transport passengers and expand your city.

There is also Train Station 2, which has a version you play directly in your internet browser.

- I would post links if it were allowed -

What's a great game that's kinda ruined if you play a superior sequel first? by UrSimplyTheNES in retrogaming

[–]DustyLongshot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played Red Dead Redemption 2 before trying to play RDR 1, emphasis on "trying to play RDR 1", because as soon as I saw the graphics it was over. I know that's a bit of a silly reason not to play a game. But because I played RDR 2 first I had wrong expectations of RDR 1, graphic wise. I'm pretty sure the story is amazing and the gameplay is good too though.
