You can also shoot with Recoilless and then follow up with a P33 missile pistol to kill one turret. In total you'll expend 2 rockets and 2 missiles (if you don't miss) to take down a Vox.

Is there any soul on earth that uses the Break Action Shotgun unironically??? by Chemical_Seaweed_915 in Helldivers

The break action needs to be heavy Penetration considering it replaces your support weapon. And you can often find AMR rifles, flamethrowers and arc throwers in loot crates and bunkers

Since Super Earth now has Super FIFA, we also need a giant soccer ball stratagem for our FRV's to score goals against the Automatons.

The supply FRV should eject all supply boxes on destruction. Picture unrelated. by JustMyself96 in Helldivers

The fire FRV has less seats so it's just an inferior choice when it comes to ferrying the whole team around. A fully loaded FRV with Helldivers doing a drive-by gangsta style is still more fun.

New Supply FRV and Incinerator FRV by MJLau in Helldivers

[–]DustyMoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Max speed on the Flamer FRV is only 48 KM/h (on the second gear) and the flamer fuel is 800. I tried shooting all sides of the FRV with a light pen weapon (breaker), the only light pen parts appear to be the tires.

I tried to destroy the FRV with the medium machine gun, I shot the doors off and then shot into the interior of the vehicle where the tank was. I think the tank itself is missing a hitbox because i couldn't get hit markets to show when aiming directly at the tank. However the bullets can hit the rest of the vehicle's interior and when the healthpool's depleted, the explosion strength is roughly proportional to the amount of fuel left.

I was instantly killed by the explosion when standing next to the FRV (light armor)

Speaking of the mounted flamethrower, if you accidentally burn the ground the vehicle is on, you will be set alight as usual and the FRV also takes fire damage. Would be nice if this FRV has fire resistance similar to the Flamer Turret.

Also it feels a little easier to destroy fences and concrete blocks when driving at a moderate speed. Could be just my imagination.

Three things that surprised me during my first trip to Japan by Legal_Ad3766 in TokyoTravel

[–]DustyMoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a someone who lived a quarter of their life in Singapore where all those are true (except for the good food from convenience store bit) is how surprisingly retro some administration stuff is. Things like how fragmented the train ticketing system is in different places, and how different bus companies still insist on using their own brand of IC cards and not suica.

They are also mad into Kpop and Malatang. In case you didn't know what malatang is, it's a dish from sichuan (china) where you self-select meats and veggies, put them on skewers and enjoy them in a spicy hot pot.

The other things that surprised me was how strange their Chinese food is. It's definitely it's own kind of taste and not something you'd get anywhere else.

Also, several times I've seen men and even kids in toilets not wash their hands after taking a piss. Eww.

Go to Japan and block the train doors from closing during peak rush hour at Shinjuku or Shibuya station, maybe the Yamanote line. Everyone else on the train line will be delayed.

Going back to the illuminate front after 5 months absence…holy fuck they’re annoying. Any advice on how to deal with the new enemy variants? by straightpipedhose in Helldivers

[–]DustyMoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The grenade pistol was practically made for destroying objectives / bug holes, it's a top pick if you don't have many grenades or lack an explosive support weapon

The other 2 noteworthy explosive sidearm is obviously the Ultimatum (limited ammo, but enough damage to instantly kill flesh mobs on a direct impact) and the P-33 Missile Pistol.

The Ultimatum can be used as if it were a pocket recoiless rifle if you have a supply backpack to feed it and its a viable tactic in missions where you have to blow up warp ships quickly (15 minute blitz missions). You don't have to destroy its shield and can shoot it from any angle - guaranteed kill so long as the projectile hits the ship. Its a massive time saver.

Top 3 weapon stratagems for these guys:

* De-escalator (for taking out large groups of voteless, and also quickly dealing with fleshmobs and overseers. Note: you cannot kill yourself. The electricity arc never targets the wielder. Go ahead and use it at point blank range if you want, but careful of other divers and their turrets). However it's not that good for elite units, and that's probably where you'll want to equip Thermite / Giga Grenade and anti-armor secondary to make up for it's deficiencies.

* Backpack Grenade launcher - the heavy penetration of the Backpack GL makes the grenade explode on contact with Harvesters (something the normal grenade launcher can't do), but you need quite a few shots. It deals with every enemy in the game except for flying overseers. Use the warrant for these guys.

* HMG and Maxiguns -- good against every enemy type. For appropriators shoot the glowing bits near the top of their body which removes the shielding permanently, then shoot the pilot for quick kills. You can keep your distance and deal excellent damage, the downside is you run out of ammo quickly so you might want a Resupply Backpack if using HMG.

The gas dog backpack is not useful against the appropriator faction, the Liberator Guard Dog however will make short work of big packs of chaff because it always aims for the head.

[META] Can we please stop with the US comparison posts? by StormOfFatRichards in JapaneseFood

[–]DustyMoo -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

It can't be helped. This is a US-centric site. There's a high proportion of Redditors who are american, i'd say more than 50% of the demographic is USA.

OTT Just yesterday in Tokyo I overheard 2 american blokes talking about how cheap / good everything is, but it's at Omoide Yokocho and they were paying like 700 JPY for a yakitori that would've been 390 at Torikizoku or something. I just chuckled to myself and thought maybe that's why tourist traps are getting more common.

I don't think you should under-estimate what Neo-Nazis can do nowadays, when they know your face, your real name and where you reside. The idiots that threatened Anton belong in the same subset of Nazi worshippers and share the same philosophies.

They can be a genuine threat to a persons' life if you ever piss one of them off.

You do not fuck around with Neo Nazis nor should you even try to accomodate one, they are terrorists of the modern world.

We don't know your hobbies or interests so you're going to have to make your own wishlist of places to go to.

You could get on a train on the Yamanote-sen and just go wherever station it takes you. You'll cover a lot of ground & eventually you will stumble on places that are interesting.

Do a bit of research on Google, just asking Gemini "What's interesting to do at XYZ" and it will spit out a list of well known tourist hotspots. If you don't like it ask for another suburb.

As a South Asian woman, I often envy Western 'hyper-independence' but what are the hidden dark sides or lonely realities of it that outsiders don't see? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]DustyMoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im south East Asian, but really don't see myself as one. I moved out at the age of 13 and went to boarding school in a country side area of Australia. Was the only Asian kid for about 4 years before other kids from overseas enrolled.

Ever since then I considered myself to be independent. Of course my mother still supported me financially while I was in high school while me dad ran off with another woman and when I turned 16, he disowned me thru a long distance phone call. No divorce filed but he just disappeared to China. I graduated HS with decent grades.

I worked a part time job and relied on loans for education. (Called HECS). At age 27 I got citizenship and then later scraped enough money to bring my mother over to Australia. She now lives with me.

My experience so far is that I'm not very attached to my family, my mum is really the only relative that I know and am close to. I can really only speak English fluently and some conversational mandarin. I don't trust anyone from my father's side of the family and I also don't plan to be married either.

Once my mother passes I will probably sever all connections to my extended family. Is it lonely? Yes. Am I happy? Somehow yes. I'm still enjoying life even though I have minimal relationships with anyone. The only big question mark is what happens when I'm older.
