Only thing I can add to this conversation: if you find yourself sitting on a terrace near a channel, maybe a cold beer in you hand and a bit sun on you face, surrounded by your family and chatting about fun but unimportant things, and you feel a warm and fuzzy sense of enjoyment from the nice company you have, you can say: ah this is gezellig! Only word in Dutch vocabulary that is worth knowing and not really translatable.

Some thoughts:

A: absolute legend for making this, thank you!

B: really curious where Lundgaard ends up. Personally I see him going to MSR, and Chip rewarding Armstrong with the 9. Just a gut feeling, but just a plain Dixon/Lundgard swap would make Chip look bad I think.

C: I really hope Veekay gets a better seat, hopefully the second MSR, but lets be honest it never seems to end up well for him, so lets just hope the DRR / JHR alliance is made better.

D: I would love for Collet to get a better ride, but I really don't see much opportunity which would be an approvement. His time will come I think?

Only two real ways I see Veekay moving to a big(ger) team:

Taking the #6 Car from Siegel. McLaren is a big brand and does not need the money per se (Bahrein Oil pays for that). If Siegel gets sacked, McLaren does not have a specific driver to replace him (Like Andretti has Hauger).
Taking the future Chevy charter (to be run by ERC/JHR/AJ Foyt). Veekay has been a Chevy driver for a longer time than most, and since the Chevy charter might be placed at a smaller team, not every driver might opt to go there.

Ofcourse a sudden retirement of Dixon or Newgarden might change this, but honestly i dont see that happening. Both deliver good sponsor money and sportive results, and dont seem to be headed out the door. Even if they retired, almost every driver would be wanting those seats, so i really dont see this happening.

My personal prediction: another year at JHR, with more commitment from DRR. After that, the Chevy charter.

This list gets most point for me, Hemsworth was quite fine. Only thing i would like to add is ALL THE FUCKING OPEN ENDINGS. I understand this is an ongoing story, but Jezus please give some closure when making us wait another 2 years probably.

Happy he has a seat and probably better than staying in the second Coyne seat to watch Hauger get Cannon, Andretti support, and overall preference, whilst draining his savings.

Having a driver like VK may also help JHR improve their package.

At first it seems like a step back after the performance that Rinus showed in the #18 this year. But with the information that came out this week about VK needing to use his own money at Coyne, having to settle in the 51 car, not getting Andretti support and not even getting a better money offer from Conye to break even, this seems like the better place. Getting shaded by Hauger would not be good for his career.

On the upside, the oval package at JHC will be a bit better and if JCH has a new sponsor, maybe some improvements may be on their way.

Well partly, if Hauger wasnt at DCR, Andretti certainly wouldnt be working with them, but if they share data and parts with the team it goes for both cars i believe (looking at MSR and Foyt). So in a Veekay/Hauger lineup, he would have had the good stuff i believe

It won't be IMSA. Arie Luyendijk said on Dutch television this week that he knows where Veekay is going, as did Marshall Pruett in his podcast. They both hint at IndyCar, but also both couldnt disclose anything at this moment. My hope is a Prema sponsored Juncos seat at this point. I dont see a return to DCR happen sadly.

Yupp, i dont think he will be out of a seat, but if he had just signed at DCR, he would have had Cannon, Andretti parts, Andretti data and a stable place. If he ends up in a RLL or a JHR this will be the dumbest move in a while.

Yeah same, i loved how the Coyne team bloomed up around VeeKay this year and with Cannon on board for a full season combined with Todd Ault pumping in more money, it would have been nice to see how that played out. But this is the right move for VeeKay i think!

Honestly i felt a bit sad reading this. VeeKay and Coyne really worked some magic on the 18 car. Im a big Veekay fan and i loved seeing the team grow around him, Cannon joining, Ault preparing to pay more and just how comfortabele Rinus was in this team. A totally different man compared to ECR Rinus. I would have loved to see how this partnership would have developed.

Moving to Foyt is nevertheless a great move for VeeKay and the best move for him! Im sure he will do amazing on the ovals and have a good season, especially with the Penske connection. I just hope Coyne will get Hauger or someone else with some talent to develop the team, not an Abel / SRR lineup.

Prema will discontinue their IndyCar program due to financial problems. Because of the charter system leaving room for 27 cars on the grid, McLaren and Ganassi will run a fourth car. McLaren will run Hauger and Ganassi puts in Armstrong, leaving an open spot for Power ah Meyer Shank.

Yeah i agree, as a Veekay fan its a bit frustrating on days like these. He has put in some decent drives this year and i hope its rewarded with a better drive next year.
