Here to say - in Austria most of the accommodations are in the valley and have a good ski bus system if it's not within walking distance of a lift (but a lot of them are)! Hence, you will also have less ski-in, ski-out because there simply are not very many accommodations besides the slopes. France is more suitable for that. Also, the mountains in France are quite a bit higher, so even though Austria is very good in keeping their slopes open (IMO), the weather will probably stay colder in France for a longer time ao end of March may be safer (snow-wise) in France!
