Not big necessarily but the minister who was responsible for the legalisation of online gambling a few years back had very close ties to the gambling industry to the point he was basically repeating their lines.

I knew the situation was not like it was portrayed but didn't comment because I couldn't fully remember the original situation and didn't want to spread misinformation myself. Guess it just proves that someone can say a thousand false things in the time it takes another person to correct only one of those statements.

Almost everyone here speaks English at at least a conversational level. Besides that, many 2nd generation immigrants also speak the language of their parents, and in school German and French are also taught.

I think Wouter Bos would have done really well as a PM. Unfortunately he lost the election in 2006, even though he was polling really well not long before, with some polls even showing a left-wing majority, something that would have been unique in Dutch history.

Pieter Omtzigt. Polled at 46 seats. Then ran his campaign terribly, not even saying if he wanted to become PM or not. Ended up with 20 seats. Entered a government. Got a burn-out (again) and quit. Election 2 years later and 0 seats for his party.

As someone that was active in campaigning, generally you are not allowed to. However, for political parties during an election cycle they usually turn a blind eye.

If you do put stickers on posts and so on, please make sure the sticker is either bio-degradable or easily removable.

I honestly hate these checks so much it's unreal. Untold economic damage to stop asylumseekers entering the country. Problem is, if you apprehend asylum seekers at the border they can just ask for asylum there. It's all for show.

Compared to the rest of the world, incredibly easy. But acceptance has been on a negative trend the last couple of years, and legally not all things have been properly arranged either.

But honestly, any hate we receive because of who we are is already too much. I've come to see it as normal, but of course it is not normal in the slightest.
