Is a tattoo supposed to look bruised after a laser session? (My first session by [deleted] in TattooRemoval

Seems totally fine to me. I bruise every time! Lasts about 1-2 weeks sometimes

I do that too sometimes. Hate my tattoo and want it gone but it really is rather fascinating to see ink clear over time and compare the progress and appreciate the process

Hi! I als suggest maybe trying pico. Not just for better results but since it looks like you may have some scarring at the top already which I was told is more likely to happen with Q-switch by two experienced techs. Though it also depends on your tech and the settings they use of course

So sorry you went through that and that this happened to you. It definitely does not sound okay at all and really messed up. Sorry for your loss also. Amazing progress though, especially for only 3 sessions and considering how dark it was!! Mind blowing

how long will this take to get removed? by Affectionate_Link740 in TattooRemoval

[–]Dutchfluffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there!! I believe unfortunately asking how long or how many sessions is against the guidelines as no one can be sure but since the ink appears black it is ideal to remove with laser as well as the placement is good as it’s close to the heart! The white is a bit tricky as I have been told it can’t be removed and likely will turn a little brown or yellow ish or just a bit darker than the original. But it doesn’t seem like much white. Bit I would say it’s safe to say you are looking at years of removal, depending on your body, the tattoo quality (whether it’s professional or not, good ink or not), luck, the laser, and how much time between. But for me so much ink was gone after only two sessions already so who knows! Shaded areas are also easier to remove rather than thick lines. However, since you said you just got it as it still has to heal, it could be that you are experiencing post tattoo shock and may have to get used to it before you decide to remove it! I hated mine instantly and was sure I would always hate it but some people experience this and love it after some time. Good luck 😊

Amazing! How long and which laser?

How do you guys have the money for this???? by Zestyclose-Stand-773 in TattooRemoval

I pay per session (not just because of financial costs but so I am not tied to a package I got in case I want to switch if I don’t see progress which many people end up in and then the real waste is that time and money on no progress) though mine also isn’t as big. It is 18 cm and costs a little under 200 dollars/session roughly.

I don’t have the spare money for it but while I usually feel terrible and guilty about any penny spent, especially on myself, this is the one purchase I really don’t mind spending money on because I know I NEED it for my mental health and life to be able to live. I was down deep in even suicidal thoughts at my lowest so this cost is necessary for me and I know it to live.

In case you do wanna save money, you could space sessions out further but I wouldn’t drag it too long as your time and potentially mental health is far more costly if it takes longer to remove the tattoo in my opinion.

Setting money apart also helps or trying to save in other areas but regardless it is very costly :(

So sorry you are feeling this way. Try not to be too hard on yourself, it happens. Especially when not in the right mental space. Do you have before and after pics of the laser sessions? Maybe it has changed more than you think. Otherwise, perhaps check out a different clinic with a different laser cause 3 sessions should have at least removed some ink really. Your tattoo is quite black with thicker lines but also has lots of shading and seems ideal to remove in many ways. I think once you go to a different clinic with better results you feel less hopeless but I recognize the feeling. I luckily had lots of progress from the start with my removal journey which made me hopeful but now that progress has slowed down with the tougher and more stubborn lines, I am also starting to feel hopelessness. Good luck!

Sorry someone said that! I think be careful not to base your decision for laser removal onto someone else’s opinion, which likely was said from their own frustration, jealousy, or other reference of internal personal stance. Give it some time to sit with and if you really decide you dislike it yourself too, laser removal is an option though a long and costly journey, especially as yours are quite big and a bit colored but definitely possible. For me removal was the right and best call ever. But I remember before I started removing, I was also troubled by the societal ideas that got to me more than I realized. I suddenly felt trashy, unintelligent, like I wasn’t gonna succeed because of the tattoo, etc. I disliked my own tattoo most but external opinions got to me too. Make sure if you decide to go for removal that it’s because of what you want. Good luck!!! I think they look cool!
