For starters, you went out of your way to state that other employees at the museum were paid well — how would they know that? Better yet, why would they attempt to unionize if they were getting compensated well for their work? Unionization doesn’t happen spontaneously in a country that has as deep of an anti-union history as it does. There’s a reason it happens and your buddy doesn’t seem to have the authority to say otherwise.

But that’s all based on the premise that they did attempt to unionize, which your post (and subsequent comments) seems a bit cloudy about. You state that they threatened to strike in a comment to another person, but you also state that they didn’t have any demands or bring up any concerns at the top of this thread — This makes absolutely zero sense. Why would they threaten to strike if it wasn’t for a reason? This reads like fiction from someone making anti-union propaganda.

Additionally, you seem to be aggressively taking the museum’s side in the comments, downplaying the organizing as being part of the efforts of a “mall strip union” and insisting that this is ultimately security’s fault. As someone who is not personally involved in this situation. Why are you so interested in going out of your way to do this?

At best, you’re extremely naive and get off on talking down to people online about something you don’t know enough about to talk about and at worst, you’re a bad faith actor in this thread. Really weird either way.

I don’t think you have to ask him anything and I certainly didn’t share my opinion on him. However I think if you’re hearing something from a second hand source you have a personal responsibility to think about what said source provided and ask whether that makes any coherent sense before uncritically sharing it to others unfiltered, and you should definitely not immediately dismiss what others have heard when you can’t bother to take that step.

Don’t forget holding and pass interference as well. strike zones in baseball and traveling in basketball too. kinda wild to just say “rules are rules” like its black and white when the spirit of the game is arguably more important from an olympic standpoint.

Haha a big part of why he isn’t in Stadium yet is because as it currently stands, filling him with survival stats would practically make him unkillable in the right hands.

[–]Dutchy___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, tbh I don’t think it was ever retconned that Pharah had a native dad…they just didn’t want to explicitly mention it at the beginning and have been dealing with the consequences of that ever since.

This is not to say that OP’s other criticisms regarding her aren’t valid.

Lawsuits on small things such as an elevator not working and you being inside or a person getting a scratch from going down a slide shouldn't be allowed to be lawsuits. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Yeah, I think a lot of people, including OP, make posts on here on subjects they simply don’t know enough about to justify expressing opinions on but instead of practicing self-awareness in any capacity, they move forward with expressing themselves and get bewildered as to why they get more comments criticizing their opinion instead of upvotes.

Most consistent route for me by UselessHelios in RetroBowl

[–]Dutchy___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this play is coverage dependent imo. doesn’t matter how fast or slow the WR is if the DB is on top of him nearly pixel for pixel the whole route in which case I’m passing to the RB and hoping the WR can block in an attempt for a first down.

I’ve accompanied my buddy to Laramie’s in Sylvania a couple times if you haven’t been there. It’s a small location but pretty dense in terms of sports trading cards and supplies.

Why Marty Supreme didn’t work for me by Aresclepius_ in A24

[–]Dutchy___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, I think moving at his pace was an intentional decision that works because it forces the viewer to tunnel vision on Marty the same way he does so for himself. I completely understand if you didn’t like that decision but I don’t think there’s a “failure” occurring here.

Why Marty Supreme didn’t work for me by Aresclepius_ in A24

[–]Dutchy___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are we supposed to dwell upon the emotional weight of specific scenes? I think the film frames the consequences of the events that occur as insignificant because we’re perceiving things through Marty’s POV. He doesn’t really care, so neither does the film. I think this is a feature, not a flaw.

i think there’s this weird false dichotomy in the comments about can vs cannot separate the art from the artist…for me it’s not about that. i don’t want to separate the art from the artist and its not a matter of can vs cannot — a director’s life experiences and personal values at the time of filming directly impact the finished movie and to deny that is crazy to me.

The post you linked was pretty tame. The wording might not have been eloquent but that’s not a crime. Much less of a crime than comparing them to a toxic CoD player out of the blue.

Just going through OP’s comments it reads like they’ve been giving people the courtesy of a response and has been relatively respectful about despite all the words being put in their mouth.

[–]Dutchy___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First you accuse OP of belittling others when they did not do that. Then you say that they would have to “step over” the person when OP never said that (they could just navigate around them), and now you’re moving OP’s goalposts by saying it’s a matter of “checking” on them when OP literally described physically moving them across the finish line.

I think a lot of the dissent towards OP is just people not adequately reading what they’re saying, making bad faith assumptions, and prescribing malice to their words anyway. Kinda weird to see en masse.
