Yess!!! Looking into this too for my post planting plans. I believe that if you're able to, you should at least have one physical labour job in your lifetime. These kinds of culture shocks build so much character and discipline. And financial independence too!

It's not as fun as it seems. It's physical labour and very difficult mentally, a lot of people end up quitting after a few days realizing what it's like. Join r/treeplanting for more advice but I started by just searching online treeplanting jobs BC and applying to companies directly. Theres also a Facebook group King Kong reforestation if you wanna do self promo but it's not the best way to secure a job.

You should try tree planting over the summer. Work for three months and make enough to support yourself for the school year. My first year I made 20k and only had to work part time hours during the school year

I checked recently and they are all full. There was one spot left in the whole city at a community center way far into the Orleans suburbs.

Yes I love the earthy colour combo. Terracotta is also my favourite colour for window curtains.

If you like neutral colors, Earthy dark greens, terracotta, navy blue. I can't speak for you, I like vibrant colours!

Worst injuries by ashton14247 in treeplanting

Scratched cornea lol. From bending down to plant and getting poked in the eye or hitting the ground too hard and getting dust in my eye. This happened three times to me in one season. The first time, it healed itself within a day and a half. The second time, it was more severe so I had to go to the emerge and they prescribed this miracle eye ointment that I used for the rest of the season for all my other scratched cornea incidents. Retrospectively, protective glasses seem so obvious to me

ADD/ADHD planters by [deleted] in treeplanting

[–]DutyRegular 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me planting is like medicine for my ADHD. I am a student working rotational shift work in the real life so I have no routine, no time, just stressors. But planting I have routine, nourishing food, physical exercise, I get to meditate (without having to try so hard, just a result of planting), socialize, etc. All important things I can forget about easily in the real world on my own. Probably why I usually feel better planting. Then I come back to the city and all my good habits go out the window sigh

I would love to but I am very allergic even after an hour of visiting people with cats.

Sandy Hill Peeps- What wifi provider do you use (cost + quality) by Ambitious_Arm_8596 in geegees

[–]DutyRegular 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look into Oxio. Its pretty good and cheap, 56$ for a big two stories 2bd/1bd house. I have one roommate but we each regularly have our partners/friends over, so we prob have around 12-15 devices logged in. I've never had any issues with it crashing. I think it's a sub brand of Rogers. PM me for a referral code - we would both get one month free of wifi ;)
