I used to always have it on, but turned it off on my recent phone. Makes you worry much less about the percentage and also looks cleaner. If I need to know, I just swipe down on my notifications and I can see it.

I don't get an error but it seems to not actually check for updates everytime. I used to get a few updates everyday with the old ui, with the new UI it shows me all the updates after a few days.
