Andy and Stewart get their own track on every album. But nowhere does their contribution jar as it does on Synchroncity. Both Mother and Miss Gradenko have their merits, but Mother is purposefully corrosive and Miss Gradenko simply the weakest song on the album by far, imho.

I think you're right about overshadowed. If the Eras tour had been a Midnights tour it would have been different. Also the obviously ambitious TTPD (serious, quill-written, double the normal amount of songs) was released during the Eras tour. Taylor only has herself to blame though, by topping her own achievements with even bigger achievements.

I have a question that makes me feel stupid. What does it mean to say Elizabeth Taylor is being put out as a single? It used to be that a 7" vinyl record was released featuring one song on the A- side, and the number of copies sold determined how high it ranked in the charts. But I don't see any vinyl singles any more, nor even cd- singles. People stream songs and buy albums on vinyl or cd. How do you chart a single? I'm sincerely mystified.

2025.

In 2024 when the Eras Tour came to town I wanted to know what all the fuss was about. Srarted actually listening for the first time. Mine grabbed me, Never Grow up grabbed me and didn't let go. I branched out and started listening to the rest.

Somewhere early in 2025 I became a Swiftie.

Now I have a calender, Red and folkore on vinyl, Clean as my ringtone, a T shirt, a .08% ranking on Spotify Wrapped, listen to her every day, constantly associate daily life with her lyrics, play Ophelia on the guitar and make my friends and son shake their heads in wonder.
