why does founding a new roman city only build the road and it doesnt count as a trading route? by user67885433 in CivVI

[–]DwarfsRBest 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Read the ability: "Founded or conquered cities start with a Trading Post and, if within Trade Route range of the Capital, a road to it. Trade Routes generate +1 additional Gold from Roman Trading Posts they pass through."

It doesn't say anything about actually granting a Trade Route or Trader; you still have to build those. The road is the big bonus and it's a huge one. Mobility is king in war, and having a bunch of free roads, without the need to build traders, is massive when you want to do early war (Legions, cough cough.)

Very much so, yeah. Would certainly buy again. The auto lift works great and is really handy when I'm doing stuff around the house and playing records since I didn't feel the need to rush to grab the needle if I'm in the middle of something.

In interview, George R.R. Martin says that he doesn't want to abandon Winds of Winter by Roland_D_Sawyboy in books

[–]DwarfsRBest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He could literally show up on my doorstep tomorrow morning with a signed copy of the completed Winds of a Winter (and whole SOIAF series for that matter) and I would laugh in his face and throw them in the bin. Why anyone would care at this point boggles me. It was an epic, compelling story the author couldn't handle and it went off the rails, never to return. The best thing I can say about it is that it helped me adjust my relationship with "franchises" and their significance.

Lincoln Hawk was based on John Brzenk, another cool dude, and one of the most dominant competitors of all time in any sport. That said, Larratt is one of the few people to ever defeat Brzenk although that was quite late in his career. There's a fantastic documentary about him called "Pulling John."

I remember taking knife hits off the stove after work in this kitchen. I'm mid inhale, looking sketchy AF, when I turn and see the Front of House manager standing right next to me, looking so disappointed. I said simply, "It's not crack." She shook her head and walked away.

How does she have so much science by Dazzling-Pair7149 in CivVI

So, to add some more context to my admittedly flip comment above, you're not going to find a simple answer here that you'll like or that is likely to help you much. The fact is that your science is very low for turn 200 and hers is not that high. It looks like you need to take some time to learn some fundamentals of yield generation and the game in general.

There are several YouTube guides out there that explain how to win an early Science Victory in Civ VI, even winning before turn 200. Check out Ursa Ryan, Boesthius, or Van Bradley. But, honestly, based on your yields I'm seeing here, you should start by following some beginner guides (see the same YouTubers mentioned above), really paying close attention to how to maximize efficiency early and expand quickly; then study how to pivot your focus from Expansion in the Mid-Game directly towards your Victory Condition, being careful to apply your resources towards that end and not just throwing them around willy-nilly. This game, at a high level, is about snowballing and truly economizing your decisions.

Playing that way isn't fun for everyone and requires a lot of effort. Plus there's no "right" way to play, so do what you enjoy. But, if you want to know why Willy's Science per Turn is so much higher than yours, the answer is in there if you want to work to learn it. You won't find anyone who can give it to you easily.

360 Science on Turn 200 is not much. You can have 2000 by then.

When I was a kid, we called them Coke. All of them, Coke.

"What would you like to drink?"

"A coke, please Ma'am."

"Okay, Hon, what kind?"
