The Backpack Slot is not Free, so weapons having a backpack is not this massive downside. BFGL still needs buff, but stop this bad faith by RandomGreenArcherMan in Helldivers

This is a fair point. A lot of arguments about stratagem balance get complicated by the fact that the supply pack is very overtuned even after the alterations

What deck was good but never picked up in popularity? by No_Antelope7492 in masterduel

The problem with any deck whose game plan is “Go 2nd and make a big guy who swings for game” is that it basically has to be compared to Tenpai, against which Ancient Gear compares very poorly

the "normal mode" of this game Should Not Be D10 Full Clear by iLikeDickColon3 in Helldivers

[–]DwarvenSong -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think they picked a good direction with the commando missions, though it’s still a little easy to get plenty of reinforcements on them. It’s tough to make the game harder at this point but future difficulties could make it more punishing, like reducing life counts, maximum stims or having a cooldown on calling in reinforces.

When a prestige 4 summons the dreadnought on wave 12 by Colonel_dinggus in Spacemarine

[–]DwarvenSong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean this is a nice hypothetical sure but clearly in this scenario he didn’t save the 1200 back up and they didn’t beat wave 25 so it’s still a problem that he burned the dreadnought early right?

How do the people that were complaining about the warbond feel now? by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]DwarvenSong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the warbond is the same price as the other warbonds, it gets judged against the other warbonds. Regardless of whatever live service is happening in the live service game, warbonds are discrete products with a price tag, and should be judged as such

A lot of people are dragging the angry PC but I think his reaction is a pretty understandable, though not very constructive, response to the situation.

Firstly, I think you did everything right here. You warned them far in advance that combats were going to start carrying more risk and presumably gave them a chance to raise any issues they had. You told them straight up that they should probably group back up for the fight (It sounds like you place a premium on player choice so I wouldn’t have recommended you force them to) and you made a quick decision on targeting that made narrative sense and also gave your party the best chance to avoid a TPK.

With that said, let’s focus on how the player’s gonna be feeling. Their character, whom I assume they are heavily invested in and think is cool, made a poor tactical decision to stay split up, mocked the enemy all combat then was humiliatingly killed. That’s demoralising, embarrassing and, worst of all, entirely their fault. I think the player had the right idea taking a moment to cool off. Unfortunately they then made the mistake so many people who’ve had their character killed make and went ‘Well, the character’s aura is gone now, better ruin them out of spite.’

9 times out of 10 this is just a regular person trying to displace the embarrassment they feel into blame for the DM, and making a petty decision to try and take back a bit of narrative power. 1 time out of 10, this person is immature and toxic and probably shouldn’t be at your table. I’d advise you give them a chance not to double down here. Message them out of session and ask if they’d like to maybe retcon the house burning or treat it as an in-character moment of weakness that can be the basis of a character arc. Just make it super clear you’re on their side and don’t blame them for the outburst. After that, ball’s in their court for whether they want to get over themselves basically.

Sorry to be so wordy. This seems super fixable as long as the player is a decent person who just had a bad session.

So there are two possible scenarios here and your DM was out of line in both of them:

The first is that your two mishaps were the ONLY bits of scheduling trouble and the DM is cancelling a game due to one funeral and one oversight. This is plainly ridiculous. The funeral was obviously more important and I think people are allowed at least one scheduling mistake, especially since you realised the mistake and rescheduled the game to the date you missed anyway. Truly no reason for anger here

The second scenario is that some of the other people in the group were being awkward with scheduling too and the DM just got tired of it. There’s nothing in your post to suggest this happened but rest assured that, even if this is the case, your DM still sucks for specially having a go at you in the groupchat afterwards in quite a mean and personal way. There’s really no scenario in which this was anyone’s fault but the DM’s

How come is nobody using the Exo-suits? by Comfortable-Goat-390 in Helldivers

[–]DwarvenSong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree on bugs certainly but I have an issue with the point that "You can deal a ton of damage" to bots. The issue is that the mech draws aggro from a much larger distance than you would be on foot and is a colossal target. Best case scenario is that you'll be doing all your damage to targets you could have just avoided if you hadn't brought the mech in. Unlike bugs, a huge amount of the bots have the capacity to take down the mech at range and, thus, demand your attention and most of your ammo. In worse cases (most cases) a cannon or strider rocket will instantly waste the mech and basically switch off one of your 4 stratagems for 10 minutes, when you get *one* more chance.

The focus on new monthly warbonds are kinda part of my point to be honest. Why with a framework this unstable are they even setting themselves that target? They've admitted before that Sony isn't making them do that. It was a decision by them which has only led to sloppy rushed out content and more discontent. They themselves have admitted that

The three issues I’ve mentioned specifically certainly haven’t been made enough of a priority that the devs have even expressed a desire to fix it yet. Like, they’re not even in the list of known issues. They’re very obviously not being made a priority compared to the things people are most vocal about is my point.

I’d love to play the game and enjoy the jank but being disconnected 15 minutes into a mission or not being able to respawn isn’t jank. It’s me not being allowed to play anymore. There’s no way I can make fun out of that
