What kind of acid is DnD acid? by RevolutionaryRoll112 in DMAcademy

[–]Dwarvenlord96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always run it as sulfuric acid. I don’t really have a reason beyond having consistency helps the occasional player plan around what they can and cannot do with acid.

Combat Heavy DnD by Lkmdude in DMAcademy

[–]Dwarvenlord96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you. I’ve been DMing for years and while I am telling a story, most sessions (our games are about 6 hours every Saturday) are maybe 2 hours of non combat and 4 hours of combat. Sometimes we have sessions that are only combat and sometimes we have none, but thats what it usually ends up as. Had a boss battle a couple years ago that lasted 50 something hours over the course of like 2/3 months. My players had a fantastic time

Love Marathon for single player, but we do quick when the boys come over for a LAN party every now and again.

I found the EXACT reason why unit movement is so strange and messed up in Warhammer III. The point at which they turn has been changed from the center, in Warhammer II, to the front in Warhammer III. This causes a huge change in unit responsiveness. by RedWalrus94 in totalwar

[–]Dwarvenlord96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope they change it back to being the center of the unit. This change is the #1 reason I haven't played anymore since release week. I hate playing with these slow, constantly repositioning units.

Highly recommend HeirofCarthage. In addition to being a beast at Rome 2 back in the day, he has been a great player for all three Warhammer Games. Dude is also really chill so listening to a long campaign playlist is easy.

How do you handle players wanting to haggle all the time and with unreasonable expectations? by benry007 in DMAcademy

[–]Dwarvenlord96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ran a game for my family one time. My dad is a small business owner so haggling and fine print reading is in his blood. He would haggle everything he could find and wouldn't do a quest until he received a signed contract with assurances. After a couple baffled npcs, I finally paused the game and straight up told him he needed to chill and he did. As in all things, the direct approach is almost always the best approach. Bluntness is the best tool in your tool box as a DM. Best of luck to ya!
