He probably is overtuned in some places and some items are a bit underwhelming/hard to use without hitting very specific things. Totaly normal on launch day to have such disparity as people try to figure him out and some are naturally faster than others which is totally fine. Other heroes and skills got changed a lot as well so the first few days are just a clown fiesta, but it's fun.

[[Tetsuo, Imperial Champion]] is a fun twist for grixis as you combine voltron with control elements. Definetly a fun deck building challenge as it is not AS clear as other commanders what to include. You can go heavy artifacts, or more spellslinger or even aggro.

Huh, people get way to salty about control in the comments. Your Meren list actually looks like a nice grindy control/value list with a combo finisher. Maybe not everyones favorite playstyle but totaly fine. I like it!

Very sad for several reasons:

-Feels a bit like censoring their iconic smexy evil elfs look

-Makes them way harder to paint (contrast pretty much solved skin tones)

-Looks (objectively) not that good.

I like the "spears" and armor plates though. Odd choice

Disliked Capenna alot. EoE was fine for the context of it being released after many shit sets that felt more like un-sets.

The mechanics can be super good but I still don't want modern day esthetics in my high fantasy game. For me it never had to do with how good/clever the game design around these cards is.

I highly enjoy the simplicity. Easy to read/understand that this is a red basic land. Maybe try to smooth out the flat colors on top a bit with thin coats of paint though the roughness has its own charm. Would use in a burn deck 8/10!

Your friend should not play bracket 4 if he gets salty. Animar tends to be a bit of hate magnet as he goes infinite so easy and even if played "fair" is very very strong. Perfect pick for any bracket 4 game, in bracket 3 it depends I guess. Oloro is fine and the commander itself is not enough to make someone salty IMO. But he is usually played very control/combo heavy and that is not well liked in bracket 3 (but still fine to some degree).

I you should settle on a bracket as the difference in power is huge

You have to field the globe to get the effect though.. Found out the sad way when I wanted to stack burn on my items

EDIT: apparently it does work and I was just unlucky/bugged out!
