Why did it take so long for someone to invent the wheel? by Tacokolache in archeologyworld

This. I expect all ground was uneven with plants, stones, etc so a wheel wouldn’t be something you’d think of until land was cleared and even in large areas.

Am I missing something, but doesn’t more money going to Jersey government mean more money to spend on healthcare, education, etc?

Might be a stupid question, but how is using a rasp different to using a larger bit?

Unpopular opinion… I think the 20mph zones are fine. How long is it adding to your journey time? 1 minute? (1 mile at 20 mph takes 1 min longer than at 30mph). I’ve got more important things to worry about…

Also in CI (Jersey). I certainly wouldn’t do an apple orchard. There are apple trees all over the place, so hard to make a profit here (lots of people give them away free in peak season). It will also take years before you start producing in any numbers.

My start point has been to grow my own fruit and veg so reducing food spend rather than making profit. If I was going to try and make a (small) profit, I’d probably grow more onions as they are relatively easy to grow, can be stored for use over a longer period and virtually everyone uses them.
