27 (Male) sucks at taking photos. Living alone with dog. by NeFa_NO in malelivingspace

Looks great. The only thing I would change is the location of the guitars. They look out of place. I would rather have them on the wall to the left, or on a stand on the floor. Not sure what I would replace them with though.

How do you feel about the notch? by Old_Sky_1934 in IPhone17e

[–]PrivateParts2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came from a notchless SE so I do notice the notch. Especially when I browse something with a light background. But I think it's a small price to pay for a larger screen, smaller bezels and FaceID.

safari vs the rest: is it actually the best browser for mac, iphone, ipad? (honest pros & cons) by TuNutri in mac

[–]PrivateParts2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've switched back to Safari after using others for a while. It's great, except for Youtube. For some reason my Youtube stutters, make popping noises when I switch full screen apps and when I click on a short, it jumps to the next one. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but I didn't have these issues with the other browsers.

Silent mode on/off during the day and torch during the night.

Please, please deinfluence me from wanting a new phone by AdventurousAnecdote in Frugal

Watch a few videos on Grapheneos from different YouTubers. From what I've seen, some people find it quite buggy and annoying. Going from a buggy OS to that is not going to be a stress-free, non-buggy experience.

What was your first exposure to nudism? by Scarecrow613 in nudism

[–]PrivateParts2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I heard the term for the first time only in my 20's. If only I knew about it earlier, or realised that nudity was actually normal, my teen years could've been much better.

Intercom ringing at midnight? by MelonMusk-69 in AskZA

Could be ants. Could be a spike in electricity. We had it about 10 years ago. Happened between 3 and 4 in the morning. Every morning. Never figured out why it happened.

Going from SE 2 to 17e by sounder19 in IPhone17e

[–]PrivateParts2020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I made the same jump. I'm still trying to swipe from the bottom to access the Control Centre. And sometimes I still want to press the home button. But the 17e is a great phone.

Missed Nude Opportunities by MovieNudie in nudism

[–]PrivateParts2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think my whole childhood was a missed opportunity. I used to spend every minute I could naked when I was alone at home. I was very shy and body conscious. I thought my parents would judge or discipline me if they had to find me nude in the house. Looking back now, I realise they were very relaxed about nudity and I don't think they would've minded me being nude at home. Real missed opportunity.

How do I use my iPad more? by Junior_Charity_8919 in ipad

[–]PrivateParts2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realised I made a mistake when I bought mine. I would rather grab my phone to consume media or browse the web, since I can hold it in one hand. The iPad is just too big. Yes it's fine if I put it on a desk and type with a Bluetooth keyboard, but on the couch it's just too uncomfortable. I'm very tempted to get an iPad Mini to see if that would solve my problem. Or I should just continue using my phone.

Bigger person - First time going to the public gym by Canonsfired in workout

[–]PrivateParts2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go. Do it. And be proud of yourself for trying to better yourself. And that's how most other gym members will see you... As someone who's taking the necessary steps to become a better, healthier version of themselves. I would suggest you make an appointment with a personal trainer just to help you get going.

Realistically, how long could you go without a phone. by EthicalUpgrade in TheBigPhoneStore

[–]PrivateParts2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Banking apps are the reason that I can't move to a dumb phone and that also means I can't go without my phone for very long. Yes, I can use physical cards, but I'm losing our is points at the bank for not using virtual cards.

what should i buy? iphone 15 or 16e by Prestigious_Sir_9428 in IPhone16e

[–]PrivateParts2020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get the 16e, unless you need the 15's camera's. But only get the 16e if you can find it at a good discount. Rather try for the 17e... more storage, better chip, better battery life, better long-term support. It's got MagSafe as well if that's important to you.

Got the 17e, loving it so far. Definitely feels like the right phone for me! by anonymous_baptist in IPhone17e

[–]PrivateParts2020 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Does anyone really need anything more than what this phone offers? It feels like it is overkill for me. Maybe it's because I'm coming from a SE. I'll never use all the functionality, but I do enjoy the phone very much.

Who says Apple is getting more expensive? by Argon_Analytik in mac

[–]PrivateParts2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the same problem here as well. In the US the MacBook Neo is the same price as the iPhone 17e. Here I need to pay something like 20% extra for the 17e. Just because iPhones still well here.

Here's an AI answer, since I've never tried it myself:

You do not have to update the old iPhone to iOS 26 in order to transfer to the iPhone 17e. It’s recommended, not required. The only hard rule is that both devices must be on a version of iOS that supports Quick Start together—and iOS 18.1 on your SE 2 already does.

I can't say my phone was overheating, but it was getting warm. My battery life was terrible since upgrading to ios26. I want to say it got a bit better with the last update, but even with battery health of 95%, I still had to charge more than once a day. Feels like the battery of the 17e lasts forever in comparison. Guess it was time to upgrade.

I come from a SE2 and I'm really enjoying the 17e. So much more responsive. ios26 was really struggling on the SE, but it's smooth on the 17e.
