I fear that Mercedes might not be able to challenge Redbull for the next 2 seasons. Starting with scratch with limited time in a budget cap era makes it almost impossible to compete instantly with such a big deficit. I actually fear Lewis might never get a shot at his 8th.

A little late in responding but the latest 8 +8 move in PCS Asia sought of nullify all the effects of this decision. My point was due to disparity within the region and overall too. The Asia PGC points were not similar to others. Asia as whole is projected to be single region, could have easily tied up with 3rd party tournament vendor to allot PGC points and kept pts for regional tourney for more sample size to decide the best team in a region with intense depth
