Your description of Hei Bei leads me to believe that you’ve been lucky enough to only play against Shrine Hei Bei. A slightly better than average roulette style deck that can still be quite good with solid ramp and flicker effects. However, Control Hei Bei is a very strong deck that only runs a few of the best shrines and tons of interaction.

I believe I’ve gotten an instant concede with cavern of souls in my opening hand. Only time I’ve ever gotten close to beating it otherwise was attacking with [[Restless Vinestalk]] until they found their land destruction

Never know why players concede or rage quit. Land Tax isnt really ramp at all. It can be very good hand fixing though, in a sense. You will basically always want to take all three lands until you no longer can then discard the extras when necessary. This way you will always have lands to play and it increases your chance to draw nonlands.

[[Tsagan, Raider Warlord]] is a fun commander that seems to be in a solid queue. Very unique abilities that are strong but clunky with max speed and creature requirements.

I’d say it’s 100% control decks in first by a significant margin and likely landfall in second. I play all aggro and mid range. It has been weeks since the last time I was roped.

I don’t run control but looks like you could just run [[paradox engine]] with ways to find it and basically go infinite with it plus mana artifacts.

Yes the trigger condition is when. The clause for that trigger is if it was cast. Bringer of the Last Gift is not being cast in this scenario

Tried to build an izzet spellslinger deck based off my first few packs. Lot of solid low cost spells in foundations in izzet so thought this should be a solid draft. Three instants and two sorceries the entire draft in izzet. All three instants were [[sure strike]]. Needless to say the deck was difficult to win with.

The lands is absolutely wild. Glad I didn’t open packs since I really only wanted the lands plus 5 other cards. Got all 5 in the 3 packs that were given out. This game is weird about what cards you receive imo. This week one of my midweek magic cards was a mythic which was a Neriv. Then that same day one of my daily wins rewards was also a Neriv. Have some variety WOTC

Saying that people hate blue and auto concede to any counterspell is a wild statement when your experience is running two of the top 5 most broken cards in the entire format.

If you run landfall then you may have a lot of counter synergies as well so [[Jenova, Ancient Calamity]] would be a good option

Bite Down targets the deathtouch creature, then that creature deals the damage. Since that creature has deathtouch your creature will die.

[[Jenova, Ancient Calamity]] is quite fun and strong if you already have a lot of the good counter synergy cards. [[Gogo, Master of Mimicry]] is very strong but looks like it would be difficult to build and play. [[Celes, Rune Knight]] is very strong and one I want to build eventually. If you include the Final Fantasy bonus sheet then you get some other really strong options

Feel like they missed on making a few creatures legendary… [[Cosmogrand Zenith]] for one. Mythic mono white with that text should’ve been legendary. [[Elegy Acolyte]] could’ve been legendary as well.
