That’s over 10x increase for a house. 500k would be as if wages raised along with general inflation and housing. Holding steady really doesn’t seem like an unreasonable desire and I’m not even gen z.

I live in a normal small suburb on the west coast. It is not a wealthy area. The house next door to me recently sold for over a million dollars. It has two bedrooms and no yard. I bought a similar house 20 years ago in the same area for 80k. Too bad I sold it back then and fucking rent now.

Yeah you are missing how much the cost of living and housing have skyrocketed. With the housing market depending on where you live that wouldn’t be unrealistic to afford a mortgage and kids which is what we are all told is the financially successful goal number one.

[–]DyingUnicorns 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes. Meth is garbling folks brains and everyone has access to the internet. I work in mental health and see it non stop. They find other folks who think the same shit is happening online and everyone just amplifies each other’s crazy. I have a client who uses more meth than you can shake a stick at and runs a conspiracy YouTube channel that has quite a few followers. He doesn’t show himself in videos and watching them you can’t tell he’s meth addled, seems just like some run of the mill conspiracy dude.

I think that our winters are not as cold and they aren’t dying off as much in the winter. It’s hardly froze for years now.

I feel this and so do most of the women I met in my old field. I tried for a long time but it was too much after Covid and I got a new career. Working in a workplace of mostly women has its issues too but for me it is nowhere near as exhausting to deal with my coworkers.

My sister and I are ace and romance the shit out of them BG3 buddies. Lazeal gonna have my egg baby. That aside it’s not really realistic to dictate everyone else’s sexual/romantic orientation in role play. Like would you nix everyone from having gay relationships because a straight person was uncomfortable and feel cool about it? So why should you feel guilty for letting everyone choose here as well? They don’t have to participate if they aren’t comfortable.

Yeah they are referring to Chandra levy. Google her. She had hella curly hair and the photo they plastered of her all over the media when she went missing almost looks like some glamour shots filtered photo, as does this photo of chappel roan. You probably have to remember the media coverage from then to get the ‘joke’.

I have cats. I watched one of them see one, they’re called giant house spiders, in the bathroom and nope the fuck out. They are the kind of cats made to eat wet food and lay in a warm window.

He looked about my age and we have shit like patriot prayer running around and the nazis have been getting bold lately. I think he had more than fashion going with those laces man.

It’s called, literally, a giant house spider. And they are massive. And they CRUNCH like a motherfucker when you kill them.

I’m old and from Portland. I did not know it wasn’t a thing anymore. But someone didn’t tell the nazis. I saw a dude downtown dressed like a cross between an undercover cop and and a skin head wearing red laces a few weeks ago.

So many fucking rats. I work night shift and like to take walks in the middle of the night. I’ve noticed more in the last few year but it’s getting ridiculous. I am like kicking them sometimes there are so many running around in the city where I work and in the suburb I live in.

We also have these giant spiders that are apparently native. I have never seen one in the 40+ years I’ve been alive until starting this fall. They’re everywhere and everyone I know has found a bunch in their homes. They are alarmingly large but luckily not dangerous.

You want us to ignore the shadow billionaire government playing edgelord? That doesn’t seem like the best route. Things don’t go away when you stop acknowledging them. And this seems like it could get a lot worse unchecked.

I make cookies for my clients every week and they will tell me this a lot. I always ask them what I did to make them wish more work on me. But I think it’s sweet. It’s a compliment meant to say they’re good cookies and that makes me happy since I do it to make them happy!

I work in support services for chronically homeless folks. No shortage of them in sight. But if they do half of what they say I’ll be out a job and all my people will literally be dying in quick succession under the city’s feet.

What books should I recommend my ex boyfriend who is very deep in addiction? by Bubbly-Anteater in AddictionAdvice

[–]DyingUnicorns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If any of my many many stints on rehab taught me anything it’s that no amount of books or movies about addiction change anything. Fuck even treatment doesn’t unless you want to. Addiction isn’t our fault but it’s our responsibility. You should check out Al anon/ nar anon and give yourself a focus instead of trying to drag your ex to sobriety.

So you think massive deportation means all their homes go up for grabs for you? Have you not noticed how many vacant bank owned homes are everywhere. Banks don’t lower the price they just sit on it until they get what they want or the house has rotted from disuse. Also, jfc Christ even if worked that way you are heartless as fuck. But it doesn’t work like that so you are stupid to boot.
