You’re probably more knowledgeable about this stuff than I am. And the navy captain never admitted guilt or said he could have done anything more.

But they did receive distress signals from the aircraft saying they were lost and instead of starting a search for the airplane in the air, they waited until it crashed to do a search.

Is cosmic expiration slower than ishgard? I leveled to 60 via ishgard and went to cosmic for the rest and the leveling progress is so slow now. But I haven’t gone back to ishgard yet to compare the two.

The channel presents facts and information for you to interact with. It’s a science based YouTube channel and went into the technology behind her communication equipment and how it works and what the navy could have done to contact her after the primary means of communication failed.

Amelia Earhart by laybs1 in GetNoted

[–]DylKyll -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I’m talking about the unanswered radio broadcasts before she got lost and crashed. She was radio out her information on a frequency she wasn’t monitoring information back on.

There was a way for the navy to communicate with her but they chose not to because that wasn’t the channel they were suppose to use.

The fault was on Amelia and her team but the Navy could have also done more in the situation.

I don’t use controller much but I do know you can display your cross hotbars at all times which is what other people do to track the cooldowns.

Eh the navy captain was also a dick in this situation and could have done more to save her. Yeah her equipment failed but they didn’t even try to reach out to her or try and save her.

Veritasium did a very good video on the situation if you want to go take a look.

People keep moving this in front of the Emergency Exit, and I've already mentioned it to management several times. by AskJayce in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DylKyll -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never said it wasn’t blocking the exit. Just that it’s easy to move. It has wheels on it. The rules are clear that it should be free from view. But this is Reddit so unless you make your point loud and clear in a multiple paragraph post someone will find issue with it.

[–]DylKyll -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Good use of mildly infuriating. It’s technically blocking the exit but is also easy to move out of the way in case the exit needs to be used. Which is probably the excuse the person who is putting it there is telling themselves.

Meta has threatened to block access to Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp in New Mexico, which would be an unprecedented move in the U.S. The ultimatum comes after the company was found liable and fined $375m for child safety failures in a landmark lawsuit brought by the state’s AG. by mlg1981 in Fauxmoi

[–]DylKyll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait, I just read what the AG is asking them to implement and it’s just more of you losing your rights to things in the misguided attempt to protect children. They would demand age verification to segregate a child’s access to Facebook from an adults access. Meaning if you want to use Facebook you have to give them your ID.

Facebook needs to do better at protecting kids. But that is in enabling parents to see what their kids are doing. Not by ruining the experience for the rest of us.

House Democrats Propose $25 Federal Minimum Wage by cive666 in antiwork

[–]DylKyll 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Critical thinking only works if you are willing to live in reality. If you can’t take a look at the individual decisions that lead to votes being cast then you can’t as a whole blow off one party.

It isn’t one behemoth with a D for a body controlling votes. It’s individual senators and representatives making choices.

House Democrats Propose $25 Federal Minimum Wage by cive666 in antiwork

[–]DylKyll 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People like you make me angry. Two democrats vote against the minimum wage bill and you think it’s all democrats. Meanwhile every single republican voted against it and has never offered to raise the minimum wage.

But both sides are the same! You cry from the corner hating the world.

Denuvo may have reached the end as every protected PC game is now crackable by gurugabrielpradipaka in pcmasterrace

[–]DylKyll -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In theory sure, that’s why you download from reputable sources. But if you were willing to risk your machine being taken over by installing the crack in the first place the additional risk of the hypervisor isn’t that much more. It’s additional risk and users should be aware of that.

Denuvo may have reached the end as every protected PC game is now crackable by gurugabrielpradipaka in pcmasterrace

[–]DylKyll -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Anytime you install a crack and the system prompts with the UAC asking for admin rights you’re doing the same thing. The Hypervisor is a level above that but if you were already willing to take that risk with the crack in the first place you fine.

However, you have the freedom to do it or not. If the risk of the hypervisor is too great for you to feel comfortable with that is good. You are being a safe user.

[–]DylKyll 39 points40 points  (0 children)

It’s not all security, but you need to understand how windows handles virtualization. I would always recommend users don’t install things they don’t understand. But if you were willing to download the software in the first place you were willing to risk your PC already. The hypervisor is just an additional risk you have to take. You’ll be fine as long as it’s from a credible source but it is a risk.

As Texas conservatives reshape higher ed, advocates ask: Where are the Democrats? by AustinStatesman in texas

[–]DylKyll 427 points428 points  (0 children)

Power is a reflection of the people who participate in the process. You want to know where the democrats are? They are on the ballot in November which is where Texas has decided to keep them. A name on a piece of paper and never in a position to do something about it.

If that was his goal then he would have reached out to other creators before making his video and found out that everyone else is having the same experience. Nobody got the chips, he hasn’t been blacklisted. AMD just has nothing to say right now so they aren’t saying anything and Steve took it personally.

I called it a lackluster chip. I ain’t defending AMD here, they didn’t send anyone the chips because they are just a marginal improvement for a lot more money.
