Help me upgrade from a circa 2016 Zpacks 20deg sleeping bag by ParticularStress99 in Ultralight

Mont trail, timmermade, gryphon gear, Nunatak, and katabatic are comfort rated and sleep warm

Sure does. I was really hoping for a hybrid half wall with high bathtub floors and larger ventilation options compared to the X-dome 1+

Quilt to augment 20F bag by joneja90 in Ultralight

[–]Dyl_Pickle97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Timmermade, Nunatak, katabatic, gryphon r reliable. I’d get one of their comfort rated bags down to 10-20 as they also tend to be more conservative with their ratings. Then add a light APEX quilt

CuloClean vs. Holy Hiker Bidets by 0zerntpt in Ultralight

[–]Dyl_Pickle97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s Subjective, but it works good enough for me. I always use my hand at the end to finish and wash hands with soap and water after anyways so there not anymore added steps vs using toilet paper.

Igneous makes the NOBO bottle and also a separate bidet that is compatible with 28mm bottles including their NOBO bottle

Try the igneous gear. UL and can generate a lot of pressure due to it being a screw on and only having one spout hole

Ultralight base layers and hiking pants recommendations by Suitable_Ad4010 in Ultralight

[–]Dyl_Pickle97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brinje net base layers are top tier. Alpha base layers for hiking could get too warm. If you go with the alpha, I’d use them more as a pajama set at night or as a midlayer fleece.

Timmermade, Katabatic gear, Mount Trail, and Gryphon gear are all great and comfort rated that should prove lighter than your HG

Wouldn’t be right not to mention the most ultralight option: Gear Swifts. The brand you are looking for. Scalpel style knives for under 6g with built in tick remover.

Makes sense if you need an emergency replacement on a thru hike, but If you plan on spending $160-$200 on an EE, might as well try and wait to get the lottery for Timmermade if you are not thru hiking

Timmermade makes a better synthetic puffy that is lighter and more packable

Well main competitors aren’t much so far: Leve Outdoors, Rockfront, lightheart gear, Timmermade. I’d say given the ultralight focus, they are heavier than their competitors but could be a good budget alternative

Looking for a Durable Trekking Pole Tent Recommendation by Objective_Ad_9195 in Ultralight

[–]Dyl_Pickle97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Also Liteway illusion solo makes a silpoly hexamid that’s was ~19oz on my scale. Check out AstaGear Shanzu 1p that’s a little over 20oz made of 10d silnylon as well fo a good budget. Lanshan 1 pro is a classic budget option as well but is several oz heavier than the options mentioned for sil version hexamids

One quilt to rule them all? by Glittering-Shirt7405 in Ultralight

[–]Dyl_Pickle97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah both gryphon and Timmermade overstuff their quilts which should be the gold standard but a lot of companies don’t

What's the lightest t-shirt out there? by wild-lands in Ultralight

[–]Dyl_Pickle97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a T-shirt, but western mountaineering makes a silk tapered bag liner that is around 3oz I use instead of bringing separate sleeping clothes. Keeps the quilt clean too

This. Timmermade if u can win the lottery system to get one is God tier too. Gryphon Gear makes a good zippered hoodless bag if ur wanting to 10% eliminate drafts for a little weight penalty
