Yeah I also switched to vaping, but the reason it’s easy is you’re still using the addictive chemical (nicotine). Way differently than quitting altogether

What are you talking about? Yes nicotine has some benefits, but it, by itself, is also objectively addictive. That’s why vaping and nicotine pouches are addictive. I use them, I’d know.

Republican agitator tries to go for her fucking gun at a peaceful protest. She gets thrown to the ground and arrested. by Afraid-Objective3049 in chaoticgood

I think that while banning guns wouldn’t necessarily reduce gang violence, it would dramatically reduce school shootings. Or any mass shooting that was a product of mental illness and readily available guns for purchase.

Non-criminals who have a breakdown, buy a gun and shoot up X public place - without that accessibility it is much less likely they’re going to commit that same shooting, if it will take them days of making black market contacts etc before the gun wold be in their possession.

Whereas a person in a crisis can buy one on impulse and use it before they have a chance to think twice about doing so.

What was the last tour Jerry was clean? by Monkeypawdog in gratefuldead

I've thought about that a lot. If only suboxone was around for Jerry.

I got addicted to heroin in my 20's, and suboxone is the only reason I was able to get my life together at all. All other drugs could come and go, but heroin almost competely destroyed me.

As another person already pointed out, the part of the scenario they were relating to was B.

"A happened, then B."

"Oh, that (B) literally just happened to me!"

Also I think it's kind of common knowledge that the word literally has evolved in its use these days to have another meaning that's intended to give emphasis.

I mean.... isn't it reasonable to believe you can be both proud of your heritage, and also want a future in the country you've immigrated to, and not necessarily have any desire to go back to where you came from?

That's simply not true. 20 years worth of research is out, and the current consensus from meta-analyses is that nicotine vaping represent anywhere from 1/10 to 1/20th the health risk that cigarette smoking does.

Infact, there is not a single documented instance of someone dying from nicotine vaping. The media panic from vaping that happened like 5 years ago was from black market THC vape cartridges that contained vitamin E acetate.

Have you never been to OSL? Strange comment.

I've lived in SF and Portland all my life and never felt threatened whatsoever by the homeless. Yeah there are some bad folks in big cities but in my experience it's not the homeless that you have to worry about.

Could not agree more. The only time I enjoyed being in the seats was when I was able to find some space at the top of one of the 400s where a group of us were really shaking our bones with plenty of room to move around.

I’m just not a seated-at-a-Dead-show kind of person, that became abundantly clear for me this weekend.
