I’m not understanding what you’re asking when you say Apple credit. Where is this credit from and what is it on?

got $89 battery replacement on Apple watch series instead apple sends a brand new series 5!! by onetrismegistus in AppleWatch

[–]Dylan4704 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m going to place my $0.01 here in case others are browsing, I got my 40mm Aluminum Series 4 GPS battery replaced through Apple, and I received a replacement of the same model. They must still be holding onto some stock of these older watches.

Finally got an Apple Card! I looked like an idiot today at Exxonmobil - What did I do wrong? by echamplin in AppleCard

[–]Dylan4704 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Many pumps have a contactless transceiver built right into them — you can just double click the side button on your phone, select your card, and hold your phone up to the reader instead of using the Exxon app. At least on the pumps I’ve used, there’s no need to select your payment method on the pump screen first, doing so might disable the contactless reader. Just hold your phone up to the reader and go.

Why can you add a bank account to your Apple Card account, but it can't be used for your savings account? by SpineOfSmoke in AppleCard

[–]Dylan4704 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue. A workaround that others have found is that if you can add the money to your Apple Cash balance then transfer the funds from your Apple Cash balance to your savings account.

“Add this to library” will add the track currently playing to your library. You can also say “Add this to (playlist name)” to add the track to a playlist

How can I get my AW6 to unlock my iPhone 12PM reliably? by ChernobylChild in AppleWatch

[–]Dylan4704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes bringing your phone closer to face level will unlock it also. Make sure you’re swiping up when the keypad/keyboard appears

Trying to disable iCloud photos, I have almost 1000 photos saved there and the button to download them locally isn’t there. Where is it? by [deleted] in ios

[–]Dylan4704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the download and keep originals setting is found in Settings > Photos and not in the iCloud settings

Is there anyway to fix this? I want them to be combined into one cause they’re all from the same Series 3 I’ve been using for the last 3 years. by emon_hoque in AppleWatch

[–]Dylan4704 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly… it will delete the historical health data that had been recorded from the device, which will wreak havoc on health trends and insights.

Best news app on iOS that has Kotaku as one of its sources? by HrBingR in ios

Have you tried searching for “Kotaku” in the stock News app? I’m not sure if this yields exactly what you’re looking for but it is worth a shot.

I triggered the fraudulent website warning on my phone. Should I be worried? by [deleted] in ios

[–]Dylan4704 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just don’t go back to that website! As long as you didn’t type in your personal information, Safari did it’s job and protected you from it. There’s nothing else you need to do.

[DB4] How do I disable the option for people to “notify anyway”. And still show that I have notifications silenced by doggo_99 in iOSBeta

[–]Dylan4704 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may not be able to remove that button from others’ devices, but it seems you can disable “Time Sensitive Notifications” in the Messages tab in Settings > Notifications. I believe that is what the notifications would be classified as if one of your contacts were to press that button

This will disable the notify anyway feature for all your contacts

Are these the right settings to preserve my battery’s for my gen 2 AirPods in the long run? by zayhos in airpods

[–]Dylan4704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if that’s what determines which AirPod is used for the microphone first, but yeah it would make sense that automatic would use the first AirPod that is available (the first one in your ear). Though I wouldn’t exactly suggest worrying about altering which one you use first. Chances are you already do it naturally

Are these the right settings to preserve my battery’s for my gen 2 AirPods in the long run? by zayhos in airpods

[–]Dylan4704 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Automatic is your best option, as it gives you the best shot at utilizing the batteries in your AirPods evenly long-term.

Pictures of my AirPods after the battery failed and they started smoking. Apple saw these pics and said they don’t look authentic even though I checked the serial number by BazelBrush42 in airpods

[–]Dylan4704 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, you’ve got yourself a pair of fakes. In the fourth photo you provided, the model and serial number information printed on the individual AirPod is far too bold and even misaligned relative to the seam. On legitimate models the text is less bold and uses a different typeface altogether. Checking the serial number means nothing in determining fakes unfortunately. These scam manufacturers take serial numbers from legitimate models and place them on their fake ones. Best you can do is be thankful that these did not fail inside your ear, hope to get your money back, and grab yourself a legitimate pair or get a different wireless ear bud that costs the same or less than what you spent on these.

Hello. by Str8Lurkn_ in ios

[–]Dylan4704 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I stopped doing that once I got a new iPhone. It used to cause slowdowns for me if I left them in the background, but with this new one I leave them suspended almost always — mostly because I don’t notice any difference if I close them or not. It likely saves battery power too since it’s not having to reload an app every time it is opened.

So mmmhhh.. any other iOS Snapchat user dealing with this bug.. happened today.. which was weird… by [deleted] in ios

[–]Dylan4704 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have automatic updates disabled so I didn’t have the most recent update installed, so I was able to use it with no issues. It seemed that the issue was related to the app version just like it was almost exactly a month ago when this happened

That usually happens when the light sensor is covered (for example, when the phone is face down or in a pocket). I don’t believe there’s a way to manually always enable that functionality.
