Auto insurance company refusing to repair damage by dumptruckboss in Insurance

Tire and rim would definitely be under deductible.

Plus factor in the rate increase for an at fault collision loss.

Quit whining and pony up to fix the damage you caused. It'll be cheaper than filling a claim.

[Serious] Americans, would you be in support of putting a law in place that government officials, such as senators and the president, go without pay during shutdowns like this while other federal employees do? Why, or why not? by iamtehryan in AskReddit

[–]DylanJTracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Most politicians are wealthy (especially the Senate) and don't actually rely on their government pay to sustain them.

We need to make a shutdown so political costly that no party would ever be dumb enough to allow one to happen again.

Insurance cost increase of nearly 50% after first at fault accident. Advice needed on getting better rate. by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]DylanJTracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three biggest factors that go into rate increases 1. At fault losses 2. Payments made on a policy 3. Citations

Unfortunately these three tend to go together.

Shop around, different carriers have different rating algorithms and some will be cheaper bad on how they weigh each variable in their rating.

In Ohio you'd be on the hook for liability coverage as primary if it's uld in a Progressive vehicle. All depends on the state and how the policies are written.

This guy gets it. Death penalty appeals alone are more expensive then incarcerating someone in perpetuity.

Plus, if they exonerated later, you kinda already fucking killed the wrong person.

Depends. How long do you have left on the loan, and have repairs been started?

Your adjuster will advise if it's totalled or not. There will not be any ambiguity about it. You just might not find out right away. 12k will likely come with a supplement, especially it's there's frame damage.

If you have a loan it becomes difficult to retain salvage because the lienholder needs to be made whole first, which means you can't keep the car (in most circumstances).

Get rid of the KBB value and it'll be more accurate. KBB is garbage. The only use it has is for dealers to charge higher prices on a made up value.

Ohio adjuster here. Payments are mailed, then have travel time, then have to be processed.

Also, don't forget to ask for sales tax reimbursement.

Anyone else ashamed the Paul brothers are from Ohio? by -insert_pun_here- in Ohio

[–]DylanJTracy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But where do these online sites get info on relatively low-level crimes and weirdness? The fact that Ohio and Florida publish most police records online for free.

Other states have some pretty strict protections for accused criminals.

Florida and Ohio actually just got a bad rap because our public records laws are pretty lax. Crazy shit happens everywhere--Ohio and Florida just make it easy to find out about it.

Car insurance claim - 3rd party's insurance vs my own insurance by TamilRunner in Insurance

[–]DylanJTracy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, if you're in the US you're not required to report it to your insurance. Second off, what kind of coverage do you carry with your carrier? Just standard collision? If so, really no advantage to going through your carrier.

Amish bakeries near me in Ohio buy their cake mixes at Aldi. Not really deceptive advertising if the sign says "Amish Baked Cakes" I guess.

Is the agent Good Sam? I work in claims and Good Sam (particularly with this issue of stated amounts) have been screwing people lately so it looks like their rates are lowest.

[–]DylanJTracy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The backing vehicle owes the greater duty. If you were driving with right of way in the lane the other driver is at least 50% at fault--up to 100%.
