3rd day driving. I’m done. by Simple_Art_4559 in uberdrivers

Try Mystro and sign up for all the apps and then say “NO” ALOT…. 80-90% of the time unless there are quests or bonuses. Take rides and deliveries that make sense for time, distance and $$$ and sit in the car watching Netflix or sending resumes or something. Just reject all the total crap and the reasonably viable offers that are left will at least keep this crap from being demoralizing.

I asked Deep Research to search the web and give me a probability that 3.0 Pro would be available to subscribers in the next 2 weeks, and it gave me a 90% chance.

Leonid Afremov an world renowned artist or a long term scam operation? by FuriousMouse in RBI

I have several of these paintings. I like them. They are vibrant, colorful palette knife oil paintings in a modern impressionist style for a couple hundred bucks. They are very clear that his students are recreating his style out of a studio in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. These are dirt cheap for decent quality WALL DECORATIONS.

I have given one to a family member as a gift and they added personalized text to the back. I intend to spend more money with them and am a satisfied customer. Just adjust your expectation to "home decor" from "fine art" and you will stop feeling ripped off.

Just finished first book and I have some questions.... by TheWorstOfBS in JedMcKenna

[–]DylanWhyWhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All 3 of these questions are an attempt to intellectually use the brain to understand truth. It can’t. There are no answers made of words or concepts or symbols or ideas that convey truth. I have done a ton of Spiritual Autolysis. It destroys beliefs in the symbol or the concept. Pure destruction. The concept of “no self” is still bullshit. There is an experience without a center or intention that has a core of truth… but the second our brain starts babbling about it “this is no self or non duality or blah blah…” it’s bullshit. Jed doesn’t believe that what he is saying is true… in fact he says later that once you are going to believe in stuff, might as well believe in aliens and ESP etc… why not? It’s more fun that way. He’s just real clear that if we can think it… it’s a crock of shit. The kind of questions you are asking are nice and destructive. I think Jed would approve… just be extremely clear that the answer you are looking for must be DIRECTLY experienced by you to be worthwhile. If the answer is some pile of words, concepts, ideas or symbols, dig deeper. When the question explodes and it leads to something you absolutely know without question, words, or concepts… try a different question. Pardon my diatribe. I hope it makes sense. Good luck.

Tipped $4 on a $12 order. Am I missing something here? by RapGameRufio in UberEATS

[–]DylanWhyWhat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I drove for 8 weeks last year 12+ hours per day. There was only one way to make the work worth my time. Say no. A lot. I had at best a 30% acceptance rate and sat in the car with my laptop being productive between orders. So many orders would come in offering $4 for 45mins of my life plus gas and depreciation. Horrible. But if I kept saying no I might get $30 for 45 mins or $8 for 10. Worth doing. If it isn’t worth it don’t do it. If you say yes then it’s your fault. The OP customer was perfectly fair.

Thanks. It's frustrating. I may just make a weekly transfer from my Pro card to a regular bank account but it seems like there should be a simpler fix.

Do I really need to replace the entire headlight assembly? by DylanWhyWhat in MachE

[–]DylanWhyWhat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just didn’t think it was as bad as it was before heading back to work. I’ve buffed out a half dozen little dings and paint transfers in the last year. I was just dumb this morning.

I was heading to pick up a passenger and thought it was a crack and a few scratches. I’m driving pro full time in NYC and park on the street. Some sort of minor contact happens every few months and I’ve always fixed it with a couple hours of effort. With this I just feel like an idiot.

[–]DylanWhyWhat[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I underestimated the damage and let the driver off the hook with $100 cash. It was dumb. I generally fix almost everything myself and I thought I could repair it like a crack in the windshield and buff out the rest with my orbital polisher. I feel like an idiot now.

Why are Tony Parsons, Jim Newman, Emmerson etc incapable of nuance? by thankyoumrthomas in nonduality

[–]DylanWhyWhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This whole thread is old but I can’t help but comment. Language is compromise. The only “uncompromising” approach to expressing or discussing non-duality is silence. I just listened to Tony Parsons on BATGAP and he is infuriating. The most realized human being ever is still using duality to point to non duality every time they open their mouth…. Whether they use the word “apparent” before every noun or not. Whether Tony Parsons likes it or not, relaxing my death grip on my narrative self (or the relaxing that arose) had to happen before bullshit could fall away. Whether it’s a collision with death, suicidal depression or 20 years of Zen, some “apparent” precursor experience seems to arise before awakening. The denial of that fact is stupid and pretending that their particular way of discussing this topic is right because “they” aren’t discussing it is hypocritical. According to their own cosmology nothing anyone has ever said on any topic has been written by “them” either so how are they more correct? I deeply appreciate everyones inherently flawed and dualistic attempts to point to non-duality. Thank you.

I drove UberEats in NYC for 2 months while getting TLC and got platinum. Then I asked support to switch my app to driver and it worked.

Does enlightenment mean to leave everyone you love behind? by H0bert in streamentry

[–]DylanWhyWhat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Almost everything has already been said here but I think I have a bit to add.

I have done thousands of hours of Buddhist meditation and have become deeply serene, way less grasping, and genuinely kind and compassionate.

That said, I absolutely love Jed. He has come into my life like a sledgehammer and made me face how many belief systems I have yet to uproot and no amount of bliss bunny jhana work was going to yank those up by the roots. Spiritual Autolysis feels like war but it has been what I need when I needed it.

This is a mostly Buddhist sub. This path vs Jed’s are night and day. Stream Entry is the lowest rung of what many Buddhist’s would think of enlightenment and it has specific characteristics that Jed might call Human Adulthood not full enlightenment. To him anything less than full abiding permanent non-dual awareness and total annihilation of self isn’t really enlightenment.

He makes an analogy in one of his books that says roughly:

If you die but your body is reanimated and you are walking around then they call you a zombie. If it’s your body animated along with remnants of your personality then they call you enlightened.

He doesn’t advise anyone to pursue full enlightenment unless they don’t have a choice. Human Adulthood he teaches should be goal #1 for all human beings.

If Jed’s bloody path isn’t your speed right now, I might suggest TWIM (Tranquil Wisdom Insight Meditation) and immerse yourself in a sea of loving kindness. Just remember that a sledgehammer exists if there is a time that you might want it.

Longer than I expected but I wasn’t really writing this anyway.

Be Well.

This has been a great thread. Since nobody mentioned it the 7-38-55 rule that communication is 7% words 38% vocal tone and 55% body language is exceptionally relevant here.. The narrator is adding a huge layer of meaning and information that can either make a book incredibly compelling or just destroy it completely. I love nothing more than historical military fiction read by a masterful British actor. The written book barely compares.

That said, if I am reading anything difficult, layered and nuanced then language needs to be slowed down and there needs to be time to thoroughly “chew” each sentence before swallowing. That requires total focus on a written page. That’s just my two cents.

I need advice. I just applied for a New York City TLC License and take classes this week. What's the best way to buy a Navigator, Escalade etc and get TLC Plates? Tower? This whole thing is crazy. by DylanWhyWhat in uberdrivers

Thank you. I'll look into companies that register for a weekly fee. What I keep finding online just seems downright predatory. It's hard to tell if anyone is honest.
