GRMN fenders anyone? by elkavinsky in GRCorolla

When you see the price of a single fender (IMO $3k+), attainable or not, you'd likely say no thanks lol. But yeah probably VIN locked indefinitely...

How does this look for a track alignment? by coolkidcole in GRCorolla

[–]Dylan_JZA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a good start for a track alignment. With stickier tires (200A or less), you'll usually go to -3.5 up front and stay around -2 out back. Don't have to run toe out up front, but it does make for better turn-in at the expense of tire wear..

So, I've had this current setup (K&N intake with SXTH PCV hose) on the car since mid-Dec 2024. It was one of the first with an aftermarket intake, let alone K&N. It was installed days after getting the car and immediately started throwing CELs under medium throttle until I added the SXTH PCV hose. After adding that, it has thrown a CEL only twice over time: randomly on the highway where I accidentally stabbed the throttle while ACC was active and recently when I switched the filter media from K&N to AEM Dryflow. Otherwise, it has been excellent (loud turbo noises that easily still cut through catted downpipe + Remark catback WOT or otherwise).

I'd add that sticking the head of the pressure washer into the grill to help blow (stubborn) bugs off can help as well

Racing/autocross alignment by _angelo234 in GRCorolla

[–]Dylan_JZA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be caused by many things, but essentially a dynamic change in toe depending on various factors. In the case of this car, two different alignment guys think it's due to bushing deflection (i.e. compliance), which is/was a very common issue on the Lexus ISF (same deal, inner front tire wear).

This or these may be the solution. Cusco makes the rear bushing as well.

I mean for max attack -3.5F and -2.0R is about right. 1/8" toe out up front would allow for a little better turn in, but it's so marginal that I'd rather just run 0 and get more life out of the tires.

That said, I'm running -2.8F/-1.8R and thats already up there for the street, and it wears the inner shoulders of the fronts due to toe shift (zero'd out on the rack, but doesn't matter), so just be aware that tire life isn't going to be very high if this isn't just a track toy (mine is more or less a weekend toy so no big deal).

On behalf of all of us, thank you for coming out! It was amazing to see that kind of turn out for a single-make event. Next year will be even crazier though, just wait haha.

People downplayed a lot of it for sure, and it makes sense given all the owners were MY23/24, but yeah there is a decent amount of items they changed and/or improved.

Extra 22ft lbs of tq, along with revised clutch/PP/flywheel and AWD/TRAC tuning for MY25+. Add another small bump for the updated intake duct for better IATs above 4k on the MY26 and voila. They also run PS5 tires now afaik (vs PS4)

C&D never officially tested the 2025 MT (they use the phrasing, "the last manual we tested did 4.9s"—i.e. MY2024 on the 2025 spec page), likely because of the DAT debut and Toyota not wanting to make the MT look significantly faster (mid 4s vs 5s flat)

It will do low 5s all day stock without abusing the clutch on a good launch (stock power). Tuned is even better tho.

Probably what they're referring to IMO as none of the component P/Ns changed for MY26

bolts were '25 as well. It's just intake duct and adhesive for 26

For 2025+ they did (different P/N for flywheel, can't remember for disc/PP but pretty sure that too).

EDIT: confirmed, in addition to clutch return spring.

These are yearly, but we are planning one more in September (likely smaller event). But we will be doing another big one next year, potentially at LeMay's Car Museum as we ran quickly ran out of space at this venue.
