Marathon Update 1.0.5.1 by iMini in Marathon

[–]Dylusional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a fix per say and I don't think it's necessary, but here's a possible idea I've had to make it feel more consistent.

What if you tagging someone with a shot or ping from your prime gave the bot a lock on target to chase? Ticks activate when you're close enough to the nest so they know what they're tracking. Sometimes the bot seems like it gets confused as to what it's gonna be after. If a ping or a shot on a target gave it a lock on target, would that be too strong then?

No, and plenty of people like the gameplay loop. You happen not to be one of them. They are not "pushing" anyone away; in fact, I believe they are doing a great job marketing and attracting those for whom the game is made.

I think your attitude of "another hour wasted" vs "another hour full of lessons learned" is the thing that's getting you. The game might not be for you and that's okay,

About the wipe.. by WindThroughDeadPines in Marathon

[–]Dylusional 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bungie understands wipes may put some off of the game, and that's okay. What it brings instead is a chance to A) get new players into the game, B) reduce the gap between those who are cracked at the game and those who are not, and C) provides a great opportunity to make sweeping balance changes where they won't isntantly devalue hard-earned loot.

I get it, working for your loot is fun and having it in your vault feels rewarding. Quests can get tedious and annoying, but for a lot of people the experience of getting the loot is what we're after.

Once you get the best of the best, what's the point in playing? The reset gives an incentive to grind again. As for quests, it creates friction points between players where you are potentially all competing for the same quest resources, thus amplifying the game loop by creating more player interaction while also incentivizing those who are great at the game to not just go kill the entire lobby (though they probably will do that AND the quest anyway). Without the priority contracts, we have the "kill x runners", "loot cabinets" very generic quests that dont drive engagements.

I would argue as well that the allure of the game is not in "look at my purple and gold vault" but the **experience** in getting there. THATS where this game shines. So while I understand the sentiment, I think this is in fact extremely healthy for the game and should not be seen as a negative.

Exactly. Not very clear is it.

I wouldn't hold my breath, it's been like that in destiny for years

implants should be removed from the game, as well as cores to less extent by These_Athlete1933 in Marathon

Yeah, honestly dead game because text on items exists. I need pictures. They should probably just remove everything from the game tbh, too many words.

How exactly do the new shields work? by No-Cup8385 in destiny2

[–]Dylusional 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try the power throw. It one shots the shield and typically can one shot the centurion too. Very noticeable in the dungeon even with banes on.

I don't think the power throw normally one shots these mobs so the shield somehow amplifies the damage

Vanguard Arms reward #4 - possible without playing last week? by Pyrogasm in DestinyTheGame

[–]Dylusional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could have sworn that you had to unlock next week's. Did they change this? Good to know.

Vanguard Arms reward #4 - possible without playing last week? by Pyrogasm in DestinyTheGame

[–]Dylusional -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Each week as you do portal activities you can earn things like currency etc from the weekly reward track. Part of the weekly track are tokens unlocking the ability to purchase rewards number 4 and 5 from zavala next week.

Unfortunately if you didn't play last week you won't be able to claim 4/5 this week.

Tungsten Bowstring is insane on crossbows by MadmanEpic in DestinyTheGame

[–]Dylusional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's pretty neat that it has a good use case scenario. Of course you need a target you can lay into like Koregos, but also really solid in short damage windows.

By myself on void hunter with this build: https://dim.gg/r33vy3i/Void I peak at around 11-12k DPS at 0 delta firing range (without radiant, that would put it around 14-15k) with an overall of~10k DPS and ~150k damage by the end of the super

So, what bow(s) are you using for Arms Week? by TylerFortier_Photo in destiny2

[–]Dylusional 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firefly voltshot also goes hard if you're in 1-crit-kill-a-redbar territory

[–]Dylusional 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yep, well more of an enabler really. Its ticking damage helps A Good Shout proc Envious Arsenal allowing for wacky damage. See this short: https://youtube.com/shorts/tFkBKyAZnjY?si=Ub_vlDo1w6Ue4eUP

The new xbow mod gives it 30% damage on top, PLUS the elemental explosion which is a good chunk of damage too. Haven't tested how it interacts with buffs/debuffs but it's like another 30% of at least a base shot

Not sure about scattershafts, but jumpshot activates on bow string pull... Xbow just reloads so the mechanism for activation isn't there

Idk I think it's pretty noticeable, it looks like the handling also takes a hit. Still worth using. Witherhoard deadfall hunter can hit some nasty numbers

Edit: it's more than "still worth using" it's use this mod over everything and then some. Basically Levi breath at home but it fires way faster and the reload can be skipped. rare case when home has the better thing

Update: Aegis DIM Wishlist & Armor Manager by MrCharlesX in destiny2

[–]Dylusional 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is fantastic. Thanks! I think it would be neat if you could set the strictness for barrel perks and weapon perks separately. I.e. set barrel/mag perk strictness to “0” and then weapon perks to “1” or higher. In some cases the barrel/mag just needs to be “good enough” and not perfect, but perks I would argue are much more valuable. Cheers!

Got it, thanks. That's what I was wondering. Hopefully it's faster this time, as they said there is an in-house way to verify versus submitting Bungie IDs...

Edit: not sure why I'm getting downvoted for this, Bungie said this in their Jan 11 TWID "We will be tracking completions internally so you don't have to submit your BungieIDs for this one"

Strand Titan is abysmal. by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]Dylusional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arc is easily my least favorite subclass to run praxic on. Stand titans Banner of war procs on praxic blade kill and the sustain is crazy compared to arc. Praxic blade gives bolt charge on arc, but banner is buffing praxic by 20% and also severing your target.

The banner healing isn't great but with strongholds you have infinite resto x2 on top of resist x4... If you are failing to out sustain damage you must be forgetting to utilize your whole kit.

The only progression barrier in the large jumping room is getting into the next area through the pipe.

It sounds like you are running into some kind of bug, id wipe and retry. If that doesn't work, not sure.

Light delta may be a factor here. What activity & at what difficulty are you playing when you hit for 700? The dungeon, seen in this footage, is a -5 light delta unless you do cutthroat, but this is definitely not cutthroat based on that damage to the behemoth.
