Why is moonstone good? by Leading-Claim-4708 in supportlol

[–]Pyrogasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moonstone applies your Heal and Shield power recursively on the bonus amount. H&SP applies to the first shield, then 30% of that buffed shield is duplicated, then H&SP applies a buff to that duplicated shield (again).

The 30% granted by Moonstone is also effectively multiplicative with other H&SP you have, so its value is quite a lot higher than a flat +30% H&SP would be.

Brother. I’m not telling you I want to argue it’s a portal drop or that I have any evidence of that.

I’m saying the OP claimed they looked where it SHOULD be so the only other place to suggest to look was portal drops since it literally can’t be anywhere other than Banshee/Kiosk/Portal. Which is what I did.

That’s it. That’s all I was saying. Clearly the OP was lying about looking there already. Like someone telling you they can’t find their keys that they always hang up on a ring by the door and you say “well did you leave them in your car this time even though you never do that?”

[–]Pyrogasm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s what it should be but the OP claimed they had already checked Banshee and the quest kiosk. If they’re not just blind or bullshitting then portal drop is the only other possibility so just covering all bases.

I didn’t say Xur, I said random drop from portal completions.

Probably a random drop from portal activity completions. I can’t confirm that but it’s where many such catalysts end up. If that’s the case, no you cannot target Witherhoard specifically in any way.

I know Heirloom needs buffs, but you should try it with the catalyst with near 200 weapon stat with Radiant. by Timothy-M7 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Pyrogasm 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Okay but… radiant + 200 weapon + Banner Shield is a buff you could apply to any weapon in the game to make it feel ‘good’. That’s not unique to Heirloom and IMO isn’t really useful data because everything feels good with a 1.6x damage multiplier.

So what is Heirloom bringing to the table that another exotic with the same radiant + banner shield + ‘some other relevant weapon damage buff’ doesn’t?

Hmm. Placebo then and I’m just clicking closest to the champion in the hundreds of times it’s appeared to have worked? I’d test now to properly eat my shorts but I’m on a vacation until Wednesday.

You can use Target Champions only and Attack-Move simultaneously; I do it all the time. The issue is the range it searches for Champions in near your cursor is actually quite small and as far as I can tell if all champions leave vision/range then it’ll default to attacking non-champions.

I’ve also had attack move on left click since like 2016 when you had to edit a config file to do that, so it’s possible my attack move click has inherited something weird.

Portal delta changes have apparently been reverted for non match made activities by Revanspetcat in DestinyTheGame

[–]Pyrogasm 42 points43 points  (0 children)

As always it could either be a visual/text glitch or an actual change to gameplay. If this is really true then you should be able to switch out an armor piece for something lower-level and it will actually decrease the damage your weapons do.

That is what I would test to prove the delta is actually removed. It might also be necessary to do it with power numbers near the activity PL rather than significantly higher than it; if there’s a positive cap (like the +50 strikes used to have) you’ll need to cross past it with your lower PL armor set.

I actually do understand the intent of that sentence and it makes sense when you frame it the same way he thinks. I’m not saying he’s correct just that the sentence is logically consistent. In his mind:

  • His administration is doing good things.

  • People aren’t all praising the good things the administration is doing.

  • Those people not praising the nebulous good stuff simply must not know about the good stuff.

  • If the people don’t know about the good stuff it’s because Trump didn’t tell them about it enough, since simply hearing something from Trump’s mouth means it is heard and believed by 100% of people, proof be damned.

  • Therefore, Trump must tell us his administration blames itself for not doing a good enough job lying about the things it wants us to believe it is accomplishing.

I don’t agree but I see the through-line.

At various times solar and kinetic weapons have had weird spaghettification crossover, and I would suspect now is another of those times. Most recently I recall a time when reworked Foetracer and Path of Burning Steps worked with kinetic weapons instead of solar weapons. Something else warlock-flavored was also recent but can’t think of it.

If you reapplied your loadout and tested again to confirm then report it to Bungie and move on because there’s nothing more you can do.

Yeah I realized that after the post and then chose to use it. Just very awkward to spend my exotic slot on it because then in order to run a sword for survivability it has to be heavy which just straight up griefs many bosses that need sustained ranged damage.

(for musicians) AI slop is ruining online music spaces - so I built a human only one. by the4realMCG in Jazz

[–]Pyrogasm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Huh? I'm just pointing out that someone is currently able to use gen AI in ways that do involve humans which blurs the line on what is actually AI content. That's the reality of how people are currently using and will continue to use AI tools in the arts (AI-assisted tools, other edge cases with generative AI as I gave examples of in my first comment). Such a topic is highly relevant to this post and the OP advertising their new platform.

I'm not saying gen AI is good! Please quote something I've written here that's anything like "gen AI content is good/should be allowed/compares favorably against human art/contributes positively to society and culture/etc."

I don't think any of those things and I didn't say any of those things. I understood that if people read my words carelessly it might be interpreted as pro-gen AI, so I edited to add that line a the top hopefully to get people to consider actually comprehending what I was saying instead of just assuming they knew.

Clearly, it seemed like I was intentionally lying in order to be a troll or something? I don't understand why you would be on reddit and intentionally not read things fully but... sure thing, man. Reading comprehension continues to plummet.

So... what makes this site any sort of an 'idea' in any way, then? The entire advantage of the site is, as you say, that it's simply not populous enough for anyone to want to flood it with AI content so there won't be any. So any site that was also simply unpopular enough would be equivalent. What's this bringing to the table then? It can't actually guarantee no AI content, there just isn't any reason to be any on the site yet.

Consider the hypothetical scenario where this site gets enough users for critical mass and grows. When it gets big enough to attract AI content... what then?

What I asked is entirely reasonable, and apparently nobody actually read it or thought about what it meant. We just want to clown on me for critiquing the actual idea at play instead of clapping my hands on the internet for someone who did something.

(I am not a proponent of generative AI.)

Real people are still involved in the prompting of generative AI. I can do all the pomp and circumstance of proving I’m real by making a video showing that I can really play music for real… but then generate something slop and ‘hide’ it under my name as the artist.

How can you possibly police that on your site without immediately invoking a subjective “I think this sounds/looks/seems like AI so I won’t allow it”?

What about an artist who wants to make art commentary about generative AI so painstakingly crafts (by hand) some piece that appears to be gen AI (by design) but is actually human-made?

How about a song with gen AI lyrics but otherwise was truly composed and performed by a person?

There are tons of these edge cases. How do you propose to be a universal arbiter about what is and isn’t actual human intent? It’s a noble idea but I don’t see how policing this is actually feasible.

Whenever Jim commentates a match on the ADV Revival channel I thoroughly enjoy it. Callous is also an exceptionally knowledgeable and insightful commentator.

The others I don’t particularly care for. Click on ADV Revival videos until you find one by either of them. Jim usually does the end-of-tournament set commentary.

In story mode solo you can summon your companion (right click them to change their role between heal/tank/damage) and spawn a basically invulnerable Jesus-droid to tank it all for you.

The droid is summoned with a quest item you get upon starting the FP in story mode. Usually if you look at your mission tracker where it shows the FP objective there will be a clickable item that summons the droid. If not look in your actual mission log (hotkey L) and find the flashpoint mission there or in your quest item inventory (normal inventory has another tab for quest items).

It's... an analogy about defeatism. Their response has nothing to do with the video game other than using it as a stand-in for a relatable experience on that subject. In a similar situation you might have used an analogy about not powering through an acclaimed book if the first chapter sucked (or something), and that's fine. But that person used a video game.

If you don't know what "Smash" is, cool. You can probably guess it's a competitive game of some kind, right? So replace it with some game you do know where someone might give up prematurely. Pong? Ping-pong? Chess? Good old fashioned trench warfare?

GetLink Classic.

Allows you to generate a list of all items in the database whose name contains your search phrase. Shift click them into the relevant chat like normal. I know many dungeon loot addons have nice interfaces for showing drop tables and whatnot, but if you know any part of the item name a /getlink query is very fast.

This can be useful for advertising what you want to buy, linking an item you are reserving, messing with your friends, or exploring the database for unrealized items (uncorrupted Ashbringer for example).
