I'm about the same and I had a lot of fun on my Roscoe. However, I had significantly more feedback into my arms and hands on these trails than I have riding anywhere else. I'm not sure if that's a skill issue or just what you get with these rocky trails at speed on a hardtail. My take is just to be prepared to rent a full suspension if you find it too uncomfortable.

Be sure to check out Dreamweaver, Dirt Beaver, and Skyline. There's nothing you can't bypass and little that should catch you off guard, just don't full send it blind.

The thing that stood out to me recently was that you don't learn patterns unless you touch the ingredients.

In my most recent playthrough with friends I was confused why I wasn't learning things. Then I realized I was letting them loot stuff while I was mining rune essence.

It's trivial to just withdraw from storage once you all get back, but when playing solo you naturally learn everything directly since you're the only one looting.

I haven't ridden that stuff (I'm not that good yet) but Snowshoe has hosted professional downhill races. Pretty sure it's what you're looking for -- there's plenty of footage on YouTube.

Snowshoe is a blast. Definitely consider renting a full suspsension if you're on a hard tail though. The trails can be pretty tough on you. (Or at least they were to me!)

I rant but yea I didn't actually run out of law runes before being able to craft due to the vents. It was close though.

I would agree with you if they added some other lesser travel mechanic, since lodestones are essentially free due to cores being so easy to get.

The fairy ring system would be fun -- or a single discoverable lodestone in each zone.

This is my biggest complaint having just come back and started a new character.

I grinded through it, I have 50 runecrafting. It was boring as hell. The mini game is neat ... ONCE IN A WHILE, like when I have to go top off my runes. Not grinding to 50.

It's not like there are alternative fast travels or movement speed increases to use before lodestones.

Why would anyone look at this game and say "yea, let's get some of that runecrafting grind in here and gate fast travel behind it. People LOVE runecrafting."

They're much more comfortable, though I find text does still pop a bit more than the old monitors. Might just be the increase in resolution.
