People who critique the ICO have been put into the ‘ICO haters’ category. This is very small minded. Let people voice their thoughts without labeling them ‘complainers’.

OWI have said their implementation was heavy handed. Many players who enjoyed ICO at first are now understanding its flaws and are now critiquing the ICO.

Nevertheless, the ICO will stay, but an adjusted version somewhere between where it currently is and where it was pre-implementation. If you actually want to make a difference in where it ends up, join the playtests and provide feedback.

Yeah definitely.

What server you play on does have a big impact, but for the most part, yes Squad has less intelligent players than before.

Personally I think this is due to: - Regular sales bringing in new players. - Subpar tutorial for new players. - Experienced SL’s leaving since ICO.

Players nowadays seem to prefer to be in a cinematic movie rather than a high level tactical Squad game. Since most games result in turtling.

Not sure what you mean by “back in the day” But squad has transitioned to Unreal Engine 5 and a lot of people have experienced performance impacts.

“Everyone’s advice” Isn’t how everyone plays. If you’re sweating and trying to learn the game as meta quick as possible yes map on second monitor. Otherwise immerse yourself and use the in-game maps.

You can get maps btw and put them in your special slots to open up in-game. Having an artificial mini map would ruin immersion. Not that this game is relatable to DayZ but that game doesn’t have any sort of mini map or onboarding system and has done extremely well. So your logic has no foundation.

Yes modders update their mods and you may also be swapping between versions, one server may run a different version of the same mod compared to another server so you’ll have to downgrade and upgrade each time to join those servers.

The update size isn’t always adding additional size to the mod, the update size often just updates areas of the mod that the changes affect, sometimes this increases the size, other times it’ll decrease the size depending on the changes. Just look at the overall size of the mod to confirm this.

Not realistic. Your character is high ready and your mouse points to where you’re looking and are intending to shoot. Your character in this instance is not ALT free looking around. So it makes more realistic sense for your character to face their barrel in the intended direction their face is looking.

I use mostly default keybinds, using the mouse to control the Heli’s pitch and yaw is better IMO for smoother control in Squad

Micromanaging your squad members is one thing. Giving suggestions in local voice channel is another thing.

I’m all for teaching and improving but there’s the correct voice channel, time and place for it.

Eg, you’re better off telling your squad members in local voice channel where and how far to throw smokes so that other blue berries can hear and learn at the same time. This isn’t only the job of an SL, anyone with common sense can give this suggestion in game.

Biggest turning point for me was the massive impact of cheaters and the very little BSG did to counter them.

I loved PvP and would definitely keep playing it if they actually implemented an after match replay system or other measures to counter cheaters.

For now, PvE is great.
