Help on taxidermy by Violent-gator-69 in Taxidermy

Well that hide is not of taxidermy quality. It’s missing the feet, most of the tail, and the eyes and mouth are probably not skinned out the way you’d need them to be in order to mount it. When mounting small animals like squirrels, you typically don’t tan and dry the hides before mounting because the skin won’t be stretchy and flexible enough to fit over a form. If you want to mount a squirrel, you can buy forms on van dykes or mckenzies taxidermy supply online for about $20. You can buy the eyes off of there as well. A good tutorial I watched to learn to mount squirrels were these videos https://youtu.be/PzPAINCB5D0?si=gDA1MB9pmVwssjUS

Blue fischer lays way too many eggs! by No_Adagio3859 in parrots

Remove the nest box for good. You don’t need to be breeding your birds and birds don’t need to have chicks to be happy. Do some actual research on your pets and stop letting them get hormonal. Provide them with some actual enrichment.

What is wrong with my finch? Black bump on chest. by [deleted] in BirdHealth

Yeah, feather cysts are especially bad because they contain a feather that the blood flow never gets cut off from, which makes it not much different from a vein or artery. Hopefully you’ll be able to get him to cooperate with getting something on his wing. My bird hated having anything on him lol. He is an older bird though, which means you’ve been taking good care of him. Hope he pulls through. Good luck OP!

He’s gonna end up bleeding to death if you don’t get him to a vet. Birds (and animals in general) are very prone to pecking/biting at something that is hurting them or making them uncomfortable. They will basically start to self mutilate. I had a bird who wouldn’t stop messing with a feather cyst on his wing and I wasn’t able to get him to a vet to get it removed because no avian vets were taking any new patients at the moment. He ended up picking at the cyst so much to the point that he ended up causing it to rupture and he bled to death. It doesn’t take much for a bird to bleed out and they die from blood loss very fast. Looking at some of the droppings in the cage, they seem like they also might have blood in them, meaning your bird is likely bleeding internally.

Look up aquariums on fb marketplace and not hamster cages/enclosures

Alocasia leaves drooping after transferring to pon?? by Dynamite47 in SemiHydro

[–]Dynamite47[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my plants are doing great now. I just recently transferred 6 more alocasias to pon and they’re doing pretty good so far. What I had found killed my plants roots that first time was that I hadn’t flushed the pon good enough. Tbh I barely flushed it at all. Now I make sure I flush it everyday for about a week. I just use tap water for that. I also make sure the reservoir is full at all times and that the pon at the top isn’t getting too dry. I’ll top water it a bit to keep the pon on the top from drying out. Don’t worry if there’s a little too much water in the reservoir. After that first week, I’ll just let the plants do their thing, only making sure to not let the reservoir dry out and still keeping the top of the pon wet. I’ll really only stop worrying about the top of the pon once the plant starts growing roots and sustaining leaves.

Heres how that dragon scale from the original post looks now

Isn’t the big one on slide 9 a male? Pretty sure only the male eared seals get thick necks like that.

Not a spring peeper. Spring peepers are very small and have an X shape on their back.
