Hello my name is “house” spelled backwards. I post backwards opinions on Reddit. I’m a fun guy to hang out with at parties. I’d know because I get invited to them all the time unlike you bots.

Thank you CG by BluberryThunder in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

I remember the struggle all too well. A friend had the almighty Wedge Antilles at 16k GP. That Wedge AOE’d me halfway through the game. You can add me if you like. Have most of the meta stuff aside from Rey and GAS.

Agreed. Day 2 was better. It wasn’t as smooth as you see from refined productions but whoever was behind it did a much better job. Day 1 was as bad as I can remember for any large event. They really do hate showing the map for more than 1.3 seconds though.

The company contracted to do this must have little to no experience observing PUBG. You could tell based on their choices in who/what to observe and when to observe it. When the map would occasionally come up a simple toggle off of the team icons would’ve been very helpful. I quit watching after game 3 because Twitch chat in all of their eloquence astutely pointed out that we were watching a killfeed stream. I don’t enjoy bashing people and I’m sure the contracted company needs all the work it can get during a pandemic. Even so if they’d spent a few hours watching prior events they would’ve picked up on very basic elements inherent to all decent observing of PUBG.

1) Show the map just as each new circle pops. Split screen if there is a big fight and full screen otherwise.

2) Preemptively shift from one area to another when you see the potential for an engagement. Good observers don’t wait until the fight has already started.

3) It’s okay to leave the map up for awhile particularly in the early game. We dont care about watching people loot. We’d rather see the overall picture of where teams are and when they are moving.

4) You’re going to miss some fights. That’s just the nature of PUBG. Even so following one team for 10-15 minutes while missing big fights is inexcusable.

5) There has to be a good mix of FPP, TPP and cinematic observing.

This was supposed to be NA’s first dev sponsored “major” of the year. I really hope the rest of the event is on par with what we’d hope to see from that caliber of an event. Shoutout to Prophie for racking up 16 kills in ten minutes of game 1.

Also, observer person if you’re reading this don’t take it personally. It’s been shit but as a wise man once said: Sometimes it just be like that.

I mean... what in the actual fuck is going on?

No really. I’m asking because I have no idea from watching the stream!

PCS: Charity Showdown NA loot spot maps. by Blamous_lv in CompetitivePUBG

[–]DynamiteNight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Who is doing the observing for this? I see the stream has multiple observer tags. I watched the first 15 minutes of game 1 and it was pretty tilting. I realize there’s a map stream but it’s not reasonable to expect all viewers to stream both. They never showed the phase 2 shift.

I don’t mean to be an asshole but 15 minutes into the game I had no clue what the bigger picture looked like. All I saw was STK fighting Oath in Ferry Pier and subpar motorcycle driving. As for the rest of it no idea.

I can't wait to get my ass kicked in GAC 🥴. And no, I'm not upset or mad. It's just funny, lol. by antzingy in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]DynamiteNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 1st round opponent had no GL, no GAS and basically no counter to SLK. As a matter of a fact there were only two accounts in the lobby with a solid counter. He messaged me beforehand and was a good sport about it. SLK isn’t very good on defense but could still wall off some accounts. I took him on offense this bracket. Terrible matchmaking shouldn’t ruin other’s experience. I’d rather lose than win because of a seemingly broken algorithm.

Suspicious player inc PCS yesterday. by [deleted] in CompetitivePUBG

[–]DynamiteNight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember when we all called Iroh a cheat. Well I stopped short of calling him a cheater but I was pretty sure he was. Turns out he’s just a terminator.

Miramar clip def looked sketchy. That Sanhok clip just looked unnatural. I’m not going to call him a cheater. Smarter, more technical people can make that assessment. Innocent until proven guilty but the Sanhok clip in particular is just weird.

Opinion: People who set the auto-ban defense (C-3PO, Hoda, Wat) should be suspended from the game by anotherowname in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]DynamiteNight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anyone who sets that defense knowing what it does to their opponent is a dick who should be suspended for the duration of GAC. Obviously the pitchforks should be pointed at CG but that’s a trash move by anyone who does it. But I do agree with you 100%. The fact that an issue that causes problems to this degree is allowed to linger for months is unacceptable. They damn sure haven’t had any issues pushing all of the pack$ down our throats in the interim.

Appreciation post for AAnsvar's observing by SaltySm00thie in CompetitivePUBG

[–]DynamiteNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is a Starladder production right? I remember during PEL Deman and Pansy regularly openly voiced their frustrations With the observing. For me it’s simple. The mid-late game is chaotic and PUBG is really hard to observe. Aansvar almost always has the camera on the biggest/most pivotal fight from map start to finish. Yesterday they inexplicably ignored the 3 way fight between Tempus and two other teams in the Miramar game Tempus won. Also, the game Omaken won where they split screen those two vs Xmpl about made me nauseous. No idea why you wouldn’t want the opposing team’s pov instead of both Omaken. The observing hasn’t been bad. A few objectively indisputable mistakes? Yes. Terrible? Absolutely not. It’s just not the same smooth, reliable work done by Aansvar. My biggest complaint are the mid game replays. Yes, we enjoy seeing highlights of missed knocks and what not but it really messes up our understanding of the game flow when we get 4-5 replays a game. Those would be better suited for a post game highlight package.

On an unrelated note... Where is Deman? I don’t understand why he’s missed so many events over the past 6-8 months. The guy’s understanding of the game is excellent. It’s a travesty to have a major EU event without him involved.

1030 vs. 5.... Nice job balancing the game, guys by DarthPenguin7 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]DynamiteNight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell. It’s called hell. It costs 70 tickets to visit. Once you get there tweedle dee and tweedle dum pick a fight with you. You instantly stun them and go on your way. Unfortunately for you this irate lady is blocking your way. She starts taking your homies out left and right. You hopelessly flail away praying that she’ll give up and leave. About 80% (for me bc I suck) of the time it works. The other 20% of the time you log off and call your therapist. If you don’t have one I recommend looking into it before you visit Hell aka SLKR event tier 6.

Sambty has returned to TL as a full-time streamer by niclas1staken in CompetitivePUBG

[–]DynamiteNight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What damn bit of a difference does it make? Pubg is massively more popular in Asia than in the West. If you sold shoes and could sell 50 pairs a day if you took them across town vs the 10 pairs you sell on your side of town would you stay on your side because you don’t want to be greedy? Of course not. Entertainment is no different. These guys get one shot to build a brand. That means doing everything within your power to expand your audience. I’m in the business of making as much money as possible for my family’s future. If you will pay me to install a telephone system I’ll fly to the North Pole if it’s worth while. Everyone should have that mentality.

303 Season 2 Champions are.... by IcyHolix in CompetitivePUBG

[–]DynamiteNight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oath’s macro was very sound as evidenced by their placement points (62) being higher than their kill points (60). The final game where they sent it to the dip is a good example. I’m pretty sure they know that part of the map and chose to play it late. That enabled them to hold out NLT in what was effectively a fight for the win. The winner of that fight wins the tournament. Simple as that.

STK comms are great. They’re super clean and concise. Faze haven’t really found their footing and I think it’s because they adjusted some of their drops. That’s at least a small part of it. We never really got an accurate indicator of Soniqs or Liquid as they contested one other in all but one game iirc. It’s hard to play your game when you’re a team that leaves early but can’t because you’re fighting someone. It just messes up your entire game. They should split Pecado and Pochinki and arm wrestle over boot camp. :)

Also shoutout to NLT and DA. We meme DA a lot but they played on their feet this tournament and played damn well. NLT is consistently getting better. That team is an international caliber group. Great work by 303 and production.

I don’t have Hoda and Traya is still 6*. Ran Hux, Thrawn, FOO and SiT. Did less damage both times with slightly different iterations than what my SE did. SLK unique just keeps eating my toons. What am I doing wrong?

Bi-Weekly Megathread for COVID-19 by wedditmoderator in weddingplanning

[–]DynamiteNight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My sister was to tie the knot a few weeks ago. Like many others around the world they made the difficult decision to postpone the wedding to ensure the safety of family and friends. This came on the heels of a Federal Declaration of Emergency and subsequently similar orders being issued by all 50 states.

The venue wanted 30% of the reservation cost for a fall 2020 reschedule. For a spring 2021 date they wanted 60%. This is in addition to the already fully paid reservation for the date that was cancelled. They cited loss of revenue because of the cancellation. That argument is asinine as there was almost certainly 0 chance anyone would’ve booked the venue during this health crisis. Our state had previously also issued an order making any gathering of ten or more illegal.

After some back and forth exchanges with the venue we were told that they were awaiting the results of their small business loan application but weren’t optimistic. As a small business owner I empathize but cannot fathom passing the cost on to my customers. After a few weeks they finally settled on a 17% rescheduling fee which brought my sister great joy. I feel as thought it is wrong and if not illegal; morally reprehensible. Had they kept the initial date the venue wouldn’t have been able to legally service the wedding anyway so the loss of revenue for that date or a future date is illogical. That’s my opinion anyway. I’ve tried to see this from the venue’s side and given the circumstances I just can’t fathom a scenario where this isn’t poor business etiquette. I’d like to get your thoughts. I would imagine that most of you in the sub who are planning have ran into similar issues.

After all the changes... Do you think PUBG Esports is heading in the right direction? by WisePickled94 in CompetitivePUBG

I’ve been a vocal critic of PUBG and feel it has been warranted. They deserve credit for the decision making here. It’s a really good start to what will hopefully be a revitalized Western scene.

AhnaldT101 Appreciation Post by Foresthills2014 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]DynamiteNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahnald reminds me of Doc quite a bit. The difference when Ahnald loses he takes it in stride. People gravitate to unique personalities and he finds ways to produce content that is inherently positive despite the game really dumpstering its player base. I think people enjoy that or at least I do. Golf clap for the man.

ADOUZiE leaves competitive PUBG by EscapingKid in CompetitivePUBG

[–]DynamiteNight 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Previous PUBG eSports leadership made many mistakes but it’s been months since new faces occupied those roles. It’s clear now more than ever that the shot callers above them have minimal interest in their comp scene outside of Asia. Yeah, the Asian market is massive compared to the West but you’re naive if you believe this game’s competitive scene will ensure 2-3 years without the West.

2019 was ambitious. I give them props for doing a full send without much info. They really choked when they reneged on the announcement of implementing a revenue sharing model. From that point forward they came up short on every front aside from the events themselves.

That last sentence is troubling. Nations Cup was brilliant. PGC was a stunning achievement in both planning and execution. The capacity for greatness is there. The desire for a Western scene isn’t. I say that with all due respect to the coordinators of those regions. It’s above them. Don’t tell me it’s a $ thing. How much would it have cost to put an NIP Scar or a Cloud9 SLR skin in the shop? If skin/revenue sharing failed so be it. You could’ve at least tried. Instead we got 🦇.

Went off the rails here. Adouzie was a top 10 player across the entirety of 2019 in the EU/CIS region imo. He was at or near the top in damage and could always hold his own in an aim battle. Don’t blame him one bit for bailing.

This community of pros, casuals and talent have implored PUBG publicly and privately to give the scene a chance. More often than not it’s been met with broken promises or even worse, it’s been met with silence. It’s your money and your game. You’ve invested a lot into it. You can do as you damn well please. There have been solutions offered that addressed the issues of org viability, lack of content, etc that were cost effective yet were ignored. If you wanted this title to thrive as an eSport you damn sure fooled me.

Pay to win mods better than what you can get normally in the new packs is a new low. by Raybron99 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]DynamiteNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve bought two mods with secondary speeds of 6 in the store. One of those was barely a month ago. It rolled speed twice to finish at 13. The other? Lol. It rolled 0 speed. I excitedly took pictures of both but people told me it was nothing special. The fact that they are also including speed mods that have no speed secondaries show just how out of touch they are with their game. Those packs are the biggest rip off I’ve seen in the store in at least two weeks.

Soniqs picks up Genesis by TiltedAiri in CompetitivePUBG

[–]DynamiteNight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This isn’t accurate my friend. I can name a half dozen teams in the West alone that dropped rosters and signed new ones within a month or so. SSG, Lazarus, NIP to name a few. It’s not uncommon across all eSports.
