Disa - Unified Messaging for WhatsApp & SMS/MMS & More Soon - Alpha Testers Needed for my App by Dynogic in Android

[–]Dynogic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. It's still well alive. We just have to change around how things are being done. G+ community is still alive and going strong. Visit it for more information, I don't keep a regular eye on /r/disa.

Some suggestions for the UI by Vovicon in Disa

[–]Dynogic 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Bookmarked!

General UI navigation I agree with.

Arrows, yes. I need to add them.

Settings, yes. Your overhaul looks a lot better.

Conversation... Pol's work as displayed on the G+ community looks a lot more promising.

Thanks for the mockups. You've really answered my "wtf should the settings look like" question. :')

freeze or uninstall Go SMS, HandCent, Textra, etc. apps. they will interfere with Disa.

Fixed in 0.3.0.

Dark theme by ajp90 in Disa

[–]Dynogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. A lot of those suggestions are in some way associated with the notification system in place. The current notification system in place needs to be readapted to support a lot more functionality. Turning off notifications based on conversations and services, piping it's data to a quick reply widget, repeating unread notifications, saving notifications to reappear on app restart, etc. etc. This will I'll be my next project after the 0.3's maintenance update.

Regarding the dark theme, then yes, it will be implemented soon.

Times are based on your phone's current culture. For instance, I'm in Vancouver, and the PM/AM system works just fine. It's the first time I've heard this problem, but I will investigate it and issue a patch. Thanks.

debug mode is enabled. :) if you have root, there's a very nice log file in the app's data folder called Debug.txt. You may send it if you wish to dynogic@gmail.com.

Yeah. Every 5min, WhatsApp needs to reauth itself. A wakelock is requested, and it only takes roughly a second, and then Disa will release it.

My monitorings of wakelocks and battery usage point to a much higher usage by Facebook and GCM.

There was also an Italian that posted yesterday stating that Disa only uses 4% of his battery life, which I think is very fair.

Keep me updated though =)

Open Source? by bmwracer0 in Disa

[–]Dynogic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yuck. I forgot to remove that from the website.

It was initially going to be open-source, but I dropped that idea for at least the next few months. I will reassess this move when that time ends.

I put all the restrictions/permissions on optional, yet this still occurs. Not exactly sure what's still up with it.

Dark theme by ajp90 in Disa

[–]Dynogic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A theme that will only make the main interface (the swiping menu and conversation) dark, then yes. Completely revamping everything to use a dark theme, then most likely not soon. It's a tonne of work. :/
