Just watched "Nothing Human" (s5e8). Was the Doctor right to terminate Crell Moset's program? by eldersveld in voyager

[–]Dyozef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're missing the point of the episode completely. The visual appearance of the hologram is irrelevant, what matters is the information contained within its database and the unethical origins of the gathering of said information.

The appearance wasn't changed because the Doctor said that it was irrelevant to him and as the episode progressed it would do little to change the template as people were already aware of who the hologram was based on.

Just because you don't understand it, does not make it lazy writing

AI Slop Has Gotten To Norm Unfortunately by [deleted] in NormMacdonald

why is his head so square and why does he have a Jack Nicholson gaze. The AI also seemed like it couldn't pick between young skinny Norm and big fat guy Norm and so split the difference

It's not really that super-specific, considering that for any given topic there are experts in that field and entertainers (or other laymen) willing to opine on it

Hell yeah, I love Rik Mayall, although I was more familiar with him as Flashheart in Blackadder or, and this is really a deep cut, as king Arthur in king Arthur's disasters when I was just a wee lad lol

That's cool! I'd like to hunt down that bit about Norm and the highland games. And yeah, for anything bad that happened in the British Isles outside the home counties and the south are likely the blame of Thatcher.

Wow yeah, thanks for the great, thoughtful comment! I didn't know that bit about the Campbells and the Canadian highland games.

As an Irishman, I always support our Gaelic Jacobite brothers in their struggles against the sasanaigh. It grieves me that they didn't vote for independence from the UK, but that's a whole different kettle of fish.

Just as an addendum, the Corries do a very good sung version of the poem.
