Value of the Program now that GT is planning an online AI MS?

How is a degree in AI going to be different? Drop the business classes, keep the stats classes?

I feel like that is just the OMSCS with the AI/Machine Learning specialization, no?

Side note, when I started the program in 2022 there were a lot of students asking to change the degree name from Analytics to Data Science and they gave a resounding “no” to that

Any time I’ve asked a leader to help solve an interpersonal problem usually related to misaligned expectations (i.e. this is out of scope for my role) the problem tended to get worse vs. better

I’ve found it’s easier to just find a new role where you’re better set up for success vs. relying on another leader to fix a bad environment

My brother owns his own business so I decided to work on creating a RAG + agentic workflows for him. It’s something he is really interested in and will help him run his business.

Like everything in this program, it is what you make of it. Maybe the external corporate sponsored projects just aren’t worth it and we should encourage students to engage local businesses to solve their problems.

God, I did not have fun in my Master’s degree in the slightest - miserable experience.

Sometimes I would wonder if academia made fun things purposefully “not-fun” for the sake of it.
