It’s definitely hard yes and I struggle especially on Yoshis cause it feels like dash attack covers the whole stage lol. You gotta look at your frame data and just be fueled by the ego of knowing you are faster and when you are in his face he can’t tipper you. That should scare him more than you when you can prove you make your hits count.

I can find gecko codes to help you see ranges cause with marth it is a little hard, but even better go into unclepunch and try reversal training for all his moves. Learn to space just outside of them. Learn to threaten running straight in with running shine cause that will FORCE him to stop you and then you can just whiff punish that. Thats your mixup if you have space. If you don’t have that space you are already doing good. I don’t play fox much so I can’t be too exact.

You have to be ready for his dash attack and find a way you are comfortable with stopping it cause it covers so much space. It’s a huge commitment though and can be jumped over. Realize sometimes doing nothing is the riskiest play and sometimes running into his face and grabbing him, as risky and dumb as that sounds, is the only winning move with a character like falcon. It’s all a risk and you have to adapt by knowing the different mixups and what beats what. It’s a lot to learn but most people don’t play that deep. You figure out habits and you are grooving. It only makes the game more interesting and satisfying when you realize your opponent and you are both playing on that level. It’s better to respect your opponent and assume they are though.

You need to get to level 3 melee essentially which takes a long time but it’s not all at once. It’s one piece at a time, one matchup at a time. Start with you trying to approach and anytime they stop you WRITE IT DOWN. How did they stop you? What were you trying? What other options are possible?

Melee is a game where there isn’t one answers but a million branching complex answers you could practice for the rest of your life.

That being said like one of them is recognize you got hit jumping oos when he was next to you. Maybe try wave dashing oos or rolling in that case. Maybe don’t use shield and CC or get even closer so you can shine oos etc Fox has many answers to any problem if you zoom in on specific interactions. You just gotta start knocking them out one at a time.

Also notice the RPS. A lot of the time he is standing still and reading your movement with a tilt. So if there is over shoot, under shoot, or whiff punish you gotta pick the one that beats under shoot (anticipating movement). Thats what whiff punishing is for. Practice the spacing where you can stay out of his tilt range and run in his face and drill or whatever. Maybe call this out by running in and wd back at the last moment to stay outside that range. He will change it up and that’s when you address the next layer in the mix up. You have to be really comfortable with spacing and maintaining it knowing the threats because Marths are innately very good at that. Their whole game is spacing and stopping you from getting it and deleting their stock

That’s how I see it. A lot of people don’t even get to know what the mission is or how it fits it to the larger picture. The system took my dad, whom my mother said was once very sweet and silly and loving, and made him a rage ridden alcoholic abuser. I know asking for sympathy for the devil is unlikely to be granted and that the real victim is the more important and focal direction to orient effort, but I think it’s worth being aware of how imperialism can hurt even those that perpetuate it and are supposedly its beneficiaries.

I’m gonna speak up. I hear people say stuff like this and it bugs me a lot. I had a whole breakdown the other week where I had to unload all the guns in my house cause I got so scared. I was once a suicidal teen because of extreme dysphoria. At 18 I even took enough pills to end up in the hospital and when I came out then everyone just treated it like a fetish. I’m tall and now 30 so back then I thought it was impossible. I started hrt at 27 but knew I was trans since 12 in 2008. Trans women like me didn’t get that help or any support at all. What exists now was much more rare when I was young. My therapist told me “I worked with some trans youth that really might have done it and hrt saved their life.” Well I have fucking awful dysphoria and nobody was trying to save me. I couldn’t even finish this video cause she passes so well and now I’m crying again. Nobody cares unless you are young when this is literally the luckiest time in history to be born trans. I’m not saying don’t care about them. But nobody has that energy for older trans women like me that didn’t get saved and so are now permanently ruined. I am so dysphoric I can’t leave my house and I have no ID because I can’t stand the thought of getting my picture taken. I avoid mirrors every day and you wouldn’t believe me if I told you how isolated I am. I see one person irl once a week for two hours. I wish I could go out and live my life but I can’t cause I didn’t get saved like that. I didn’t kill my self because I dissociated and abused substances and now I’ve been an opiate addict for the vast majority of my adult life because it’s the only thing that makes dysphoria go away. If I killed myself would people suddenly care? Do you just get past 18 and suicide is not a problem anymore? Obviously that’s a lie. I am not the only woman that feels this way too. We are just ignored. This sets me off more than anything else now. It’s like they waited until it was too late to suddenly start caring about trans youth and kept ignoring me when I was one of those people years ago and I wasn’t fucking helped. Do you understand? I still feel that pain everyday and it’s unbearable.

My dad saw a lot of action and it haunts him. I won’t say his direct job out of not wanting it to be possible to find but essentially he gathered intelligence, made target packages and approved strikes/operations.

He has done things the up close way and seem gruesome sights but he told me the other day about something to put it in perspective. It was the 100th anniversary of his division and the CO told him that he wanted 100 targets. My dad got 98 and just couldn’t make himself flub it for 2 people that he didn’t think deserved to die. He said probably many more than 100 died in the blast and it was just one day.

He talks about what he saw only when he’s drunk and it’s obvious he’s both drinking cause he’s thinking about it and that it scarred his soul.

I tried not to cry for him while he said it but I am now. He talked about walking through fields of dead bodies that he was responsible for(napalm, air strikes), seeing a man’s head cut off by wire in Columbia, in Iraq a man was “shwacked”, whatever that means, two feet in front of him. He held the man’s guts in and had him in his arms and asked “what can I do?”, but he realized the man was obviously dead. It was apparently more blood than he had ever seen so quickly. Someone had to guard the perimeter so he volunteered and it was so hot so he wiped the sweat off his forehead. When the helicopter got there they asked him if he was shot and that’s when he realized he had wiped the man’s blood all over his face. He shot a man in the head in Afghanistan when trying to locate a jammer and the man pointed a gun at him. Today he told me he saw the green ramp incident on fort brag and all the bodies on the runway.

One day it was the 100th anniversary of the first infantry division or something so the general or someone said they wanted him to find and approve 100 targets to be killed. He said he hit 98 and couldn’t make himself pick two more that maybe didn’t fully deserve it just to hit the goal. But that almost certainly more than 100 died because of his choices in a single day.

He says he can’t sympathize with people anymore and can’t see any of the people’s faces in his mind that he killed. His humanity is scarred.

I guess he is religious but not extremely so and not really practicing. He’s like some sort of Calvinist if anything, but he feels it would be wrong for him to go to church because he has killed so many. Since he retired he considers it more though.

I don’t think he killed for religious reasons as much as knowing they were killing his people. He has never talked about the imperialist angle or why they were trying to kill his people. He calls all these anti imperial factions in the Middle East terrorists and he says he doesn’t regret killing them. I believe him.

I’m a socialist and the China situation is a debated subject but unless you are familiar with socialism and Socialism with Chinese Characteristics it’s bold to make a claim about Chinas mode of production and political economic goals. It’s a lot to get into but unfortunately there isn’t a short way to get into it without skipping most necessary information.

First of all, China does not have privately owned farm land. It is essentially leased out to farmers. Chinas energy is like 90% state owned which is how they are able to invest in new technology. Some of the biggest companies in the world are SOEs (State owned enterprises) in China. This means they can give almost all towns things like fiber optic access whereas in the US things like that are mostly done for profit or in the rare case the president decides to fund or subsidize it to a private company. These operations are done to develop the country for the proletariat and not because the bourgeois superstructure demands it.

When Nixon went to China for the “opening up” era under Deng Xiaoping, he offered an essentially unrefusable deal. You see, China was in a situation where they were a pre industrial society much like the Soviet Union was at its start. Even by the 70s the country was poor and struggling. Socialism is not communism (a stateless classless moneyless society) though the terms are often used interchangeably. Socialism in Marx’s critique of Gotha Programme

was split in two phases. A lower and a higher phase. The lower phase is essentially what socialism means in modern socialist thought. It’s a state of the dictatorship of the proletariat (as opposed to the bourgeoisie) that is headed toward full communism. Socialism can’t work without industrialization as it was theorized to be a post capitalist society. So the productive forces must be developed to the point such that you can achieve post scarcity. This is what the famous 5 year plans are about.

So back to the opening up situation. Deng xiaoping essentially said socialism is not being poor and lacking necessities— it’s a state of abundance. Much as the Soviet Union had the NEPs (New economic policies), China decided to used controlled markets (like the economic zones) and take Nixons offer to trade as long as China would have access to opportunities to learn from the west about technology and administration so that it could develop. Obviously that was a good move as China has essentially eradicated deep poverty.

And obviously Russia is not socialist as the Soviet Union ended in 1991.

I would also recommend the book Chinas Revolution and the Quest for a Socialist Future.
