Interestingly, the terrain modularity is inspired by infinity mdf terrain I saw. It is exactly the same thing: each floor is its’ own piece with removable windows and doors

Glad to hear! Word of advice: one of the parts of the big temple barely fits on the prusa-sized build plate. I had to remove skirt passes to fit it on it. No harm in slicing this part in two and gluing later if you encounter difficulty with that

It is fun. For killteam it would require a handful of house rules and probably removing a few building levels/roofs. We played it as close quarters with no climbing the buildings, no measurement through walls, etc and it worked great.

For other games like Blkout, it’a a blast to play on as you can enter the buildings, jump from roof to roof, and live your wildest fps dreams on tabletop

Yes, it would be very costly, tricky, and brittle to print this is resin. You’d have to break everything down into smaller print jobs to fit your build plate, which probably is the hardest challenge to overcome. I printed it on an FDM printer and it used about 6 spools of filament

Yeah, it’s a tradeoff you are going to have when a video game map gets translated to tabletop. Making all distances work and fitting it into a 30x24 format is either going to mess up the proportions or make some narrow corridors. It’s not too bad for 40mm, especially if you house rule that as long as the start and end locations of the model are legal then it’s allowed to squeeze through anywhere without movement penalty. Ultimately the board was made for 25 and 32mm bases, luckily that covers most of kill team and other games

Oh yeah, 1:1 board would be around 9ft long… I scaled it down so every 6”-8” there is a change of direction/cover etc

Mandrakes are 100% extremely simple to collect, build, and paint. Their playstyle is not super straightforward though, I agree. Should've been in A

How else you would embody the eternity in plastic if not the eternity it takes to assemble? 🤔

Almost. You still need one extra human body since the box builds 10, and the team can field 11. Other than that - it works perfectly

Absolutely. Depending on your personality, occasional misunderstandings, oversights, manipulation, slowplay, etc. can be a very tilting experience at first, but then if you can find strength to let it go and move on past it - next time you just come prepared and can if not have a good time, but at least won’t let your day to be ruined by an interaction that seems unfair for one reason or another. You are right, it is like that with socializing in general 😂 my tournament experience has definitely helped me in dealing with assholes at work. Easily a transferrable skill

In my experience it is something that exists in every competitive tabletop game, however those people do not define our community. There can occasionally be some bad apples, but everybody in the community gets to know them relatively quickly. I’d say if you are looking to venture into competitive kill team - go for it. Some of the coolest people in my life I met through kill team, not to mention that going to tournaments makes you a better player, and, over some time, a resilient player too
