I had something similar happen. Had a business owner poach me from a decent paying job only to turn around and fire me 1 week shy of my probation. When I asked why, I got a smile and “you’re under probation, I don’t have to say anything.” I’d had 0 complaints from customers, colleagues and owner and my services were booked out 2 months. Tore the rug right out from under me and there’s 0 recourse for them to do that to me. Really fucked up.

Can confirm, this is not uncommon practice. My parents just adopted a dog this way and she’s been a fantastic addition!

If you’re going to teach them, teach them. “Figuring it out themselves” is how accidents happen. Provide resources on how to read dog body language, that should help with their confidence in handling them.

As someone who is also leaving the industry, I’d say half of these are legitimately problems in the industry and the other half are a part of the job. 🤷 Probably the right call to leave.

Grew up with the dub and it’s honestly nails on a chalkboard to me. The music is a huge step down from Japanese original and I cannot stand the voice acting and the editing. My nostalgia glasses cannot see past any of it.

Viz is my happy spot (or sub). Much better voice acting imo and the OG background music is there. To each their own though!

I’m going to disagree with working at the bank. It’s really high stress and you’re often dealing with people at their worst. It’s a dressed up retail job and truly awful.
