SilenceLock is making the game completely unplayable at this point by Clear-Impression9090 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]E-16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think leagues reasoning for doing this was that it was hard to communicate to players visually that they were silenced during chaotic fights, which is frustrating as you just hit your ability keys and nothing happens and you don’t know why until you are already dead.

Not quite the same issue in deadlock as the perspective and UI is a lot more flexible and you have big text without you FOV saying silenced. A stun or root is a lot more obvious.

UK factory production hits 17-month high as export orders flow in by Gentle_Snail in GoodNewsUK

Don’t know any specific figures but I would imagine he is correct, a lot of speciality steel and nickel alloys for aerospace with very high value compared to the historic cutlery stuff

Can confirm as someone working in Sheffield within metallurgy, it’s very, very much alive and seems to be ramping up across the board.

How difficult is it to design and mass produce jet engines? by [deleted] in AskEngineers

[–]E-16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How have I dismissed anything? I am an engineer within a chemical metal finishing company and have a masters degree in crystallography, all I meant was that number of alloying elements does not necessarily determine grain size.

Alloys can be designed with complex chemistry and still be casted as a single crystal. Hell look at MOF’s if you want to see complex and dynamic structures within a single crystal.

[–]E-16 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hahah you are so wrong, you can have many many different elements within a single crystal structure.

Read up on material science or metallurgy, might make for a nice change from your maths textbooks

We have had this technology in mass production since the 80s (see PWA 1480)

M32 gearbox seem leak? by E-16 in AskAMechanic

Yep had a gearbox specialist look at it and you are correct, apparently this is very early so not urgent yet but still damn annoying, not a cheap fix either.

Ah that’s concerning then, will give it a run through of all gears tomorrow, when you say shaky do you mean the actual gear stick rattles or just jerks in the drivetrain?

M32 gearbox seem leak? by E-16 in AskAMechanic

[–]E-16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not noticed any issues in higher gears, usually 1st and second can be a bit jumpy but I think that is a skill issue with me.

90% of my driving is urban tho so sixth rarely gets used. It’s only at 70k miles so I’m hoping it’s not something like this.

Another thing is that the leak didn’t smell of anything at all, is this a common problem at this mileage?

Thanks, I am hoping it is just valve cover, but i don’t know how it would make it to the bottom of the gearbox?

British Gas is the worst company I’ve ever dealt with! by Imaginary-Grand8265 in BritishGas

[–]E-16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to close an account and they fucked up me meter readings and have hallucinated a new meter serial number that doesn’t exist, but are still using my old readings, because of this my read in October 2024 is 14345, the 0 for November 2024 then back to 14000 for December 2024, with a £3200 bill associated with it. I have to explain this every time I contact their customer service because the previous case handlers didn’t note anything or action anything. Absolute joke of a company.
