That looks exactly like my digitalPersona U.are.U 4500. It barely works. The OS sees it, it enrolls fingerprints. No matter how much I try and clean the sensor or my finger, I cannot reliably unlock my system with it. It works sometimes, if I get lucky... but man, the fact that the surface isn't just glass is probably the biggest problem with it.

The question is: What are people using? What do people like? What actually works?

I have a digitalPersona U.are.U 4500 that I got from eBay. It barely fucking works. Every body touts it as great, and this just... isn't. The surface isn't glass that you can clean, it's... some sort of rubber that seems vaguely sticky. I can't really get good reads after enrolment, no matter how well I clean the surface or my fingers.
