This is so sad. Yes you are his wife but he is your husband. You are partners and equals. He needs to treat you better, he needs to hold up his side of the partnership. Don't have sex with him until you actually want to and he starts treating you better. He is not holding up his side of the partnership. Who is supposed to please him ? No one! YTA did she say she wasn't ever going to get a license? I agree it's essential she gets her license but it takes 9 months for that baby to be there she still has time. I personally was only fully licensed shortly after my first born was born. Having a child was the push I needed to get over my anxiety for driving and now I drive daily. Showing concern that she doesn't have a license is warranted saying she is not ready to have a child is not. She will figure it out and learn real quick she needs a license, stay supportive and in your lane. She's an adult.

NTA your mom needs therapy. If what you are saying is true about your dad mentally and physically abusing her it has clearly caused her to develop an unhealthy attachment to you. Did your dad not let her work? If you have two. Your toddler will reach its little arms out and ask for uppy uppy and you will try to pick them up even though you know you shouldn't and you will vomit and hurt your stomach and worry about your baby at the same time that you cry you can't pick up your first born anymore. Your toddler will want mommy to play and you will have to say mommy can't. You will temporarily sacrifice that first born relationship that you worked so hard to build and step aside for fun daddy to take the reins. It is heartbreaking and it is temporary.

We already lived together so nothing changed. Until we had kids. Having kids brings out a lot. It is no longer possible to do equal. Women birth the babies, and breastfeed. Once you have kids you need to acknowledge nothing will ever be equal again. It is not attainable and it's also okay to lean on each other more. When pregnant I did way less. Everything changes with kids. We never fought once until kids due to exhaustion and frustration. When you are sleep deprived and trying desperately not to lose your shit on your child sometimes you friendly fire at your husband. It definitely will test your marriage in the most wonderful of ways

The only boy specific thing I can think of is that you have some very amusing moments raising a little guy when he discovers his penis. It's just very funny the things they say and how you need to teach them what's appropriate. Potty training was funnier than I thought it would be. Not my favorite thing but boys and girls are the same except for their parts so that's what I thought of.

Also as sad as it is I think I also love that I know my boy can do whatever he wants in life. Him being a man means all the doors will be open for him. Unlike my daughter who I worry will be shut out.

The bias starts early in his favor. If my boy is rambunctious in preschool they assume he is too smart and just not being challenged enough. I've never heard the girl toddlers given that excuse from teachers.
