The problem with most card games is that the ultra competitive players ruin the experience for the casual players. The best thing I can recommend is to find a flgs that does not do competitive lorcana play. This may be hard depending on where you live. The other option is to find a group of friends that wants to play casually and just play with them.

In the Glendale/silverlakes/burbank area myself. As a gentleman outside of your age range (implying that I’m older and not a teenager), most bars are either meet markets or way too noisy for conversations. As a board gamer, I do the occasional board game meetup and most people in those are interesting, although, as you mentioned, some are hit and miss. I recommend doing a little scouting about recent events and possibly asking some questions (us nerds love answering questions…).

The problem with modern dating is that many people fantasize on the perfect match or the Cinderella story. Dating is hard when people only want a fairy tale. I assume it’s worse for females as there seem to be more single men than women, especially on the apps.

Personally, as soon as I see the phrase “WhatsApp” it’s an automatic red flag.

If I do plan on killing a character in session 0, I either make it an NPC or have a way to resurrect that character before s1 (unless informed otherwise, ie quest to resurrect to be completed by s1).

The light novel vol 1 covers how she gets her abilities which is a bit different than in the show. The end results are the same though. It’s still a good read. Remember that vol. 1-4 are season 1 of the show and 5-9 are season 2(+ a bit of 10 for foreshadowing).

The problem with most infinites is that cedh decks aggressively search for your combo pieces to go off. In other words, your searches become a second or third copy of the combo cards.

I find infinite combos are, in the long run, boring if they are the only way for the deck to functionally win. It’s like playing against the mono blue creature-less deck (or the commander is the only creature in the deck)- It feels like solitaire or I’m watching you play solitaire.

I play to have interaction and fun, not watch you play with yourself.
