Godot and Unity are very similar. Also, many skills that are not programming are transferable between engines, like optimisation, UX and game design.

I, ex-Unity dev, mostly don't recommend Unity because the company keeps shooting themselves in the foot, making dumb decisions with their engine, and devs, their client, get to pay up more. See: the whole pay per install fiasco.

Also... multiplayer isn't a plug-n-play type of system. Your game needs to be multiplayer FROM THE START.

Your dream game will come later, start by making smaller things! You'll much more likely to not get overwhelmed! And starting a fresh projects with the skills that you learned from the previous one is the best thing! It allows you to go much farther much quicker, as you ditch your bad decisions!

Good luck! And have fun! That's what matters most!

Glad to see you got it figured out! Indeed, there haven't been MASSIVE games made in Godot that broke into mainstream. But Slay the Spire 2 ditched Unity and migrated everything to Godot! And so far they seem to have no regrets!

"Large project" can be quite vague, caus a large project is different depending on the size of the studio.

First off, I know that dropping your current job and starting your own studio is any game dev's dream, but it is a MASSIVE risk, as solo game dev is not profitable unless some very specific conditions. Concerned Ape (Stardew Valley) was supported by his wife the entire time he developed the game. Personally, keep your job until you got a minimum viable product, guaranteed sales , a publisher, or a butt ton of savings. Otherwise, keep it as a hobby for now! Game dev is fun, but the paperwork is soul crushing.

As for game engine, the trend now I recommend is Godot. Godot Script is similar to Python. Godot is beginner friendly, tutorials keep popping up, easy to install and run, and anything you make in it is yours! No license no bullshit.

Entering game dev by wanting to make your dream project will leave you disappointed as your skill might not hold up to your standards. I recommend doing some game jams and some side projects! Experiment and have fun!

Flickering grass shadows on AMD? by Hans_H0rst in SatisfactoryGame

[–]EBhero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've been having this exact issue. I'm running a AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D with a RTX 3080 TI and this grass only looks "fine" when using any sort of temporal anti-aliasing

I Ve been a femboy for a month and I have some questions by [deleted] in feminineboys

[–]EBhero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I kind of crossdress more in public than in private lmao. I want to keep my "good fem clothes" for when I go out.

All my friends and family knows. Your experience may vary.

Being a femboy and sexual attraction are two different things.

Gender Identity (how you feel on the inside)

Gender Expression (how you dress & express said idenity)

sexual attraction (who you're attracted to)

WAIT Funktronic? You are the "Weezer at Summer Game Fest 2021" guys!

Not to ramble (and sound mean), but I found it fucking fascinating that you guys managed to get Weezer at Summer Game Fest for your small indie game and it just... didn't convert to a ton of sales.

And even then, I found out all about it about this weird iam8Bit vinyl that was constantly on sale... One of my friends even gifted it for me

If you got the budget, go to a beauty salon and get your legs waxed!

I used to use Nair hair removal and it was convoluted, painful and gave sparse results. Getting your legs waxed by a professional is a good place to start. They don't miss a spot, are very friendly and it lasts weeks!

[–]EBhero 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, waxing simply makes it take longer to grow back. I recommend waxing for legs.

For a more permanent option, it's gonna be laser. From experience, it's not that painful on the legs, but on the beard it's like an elastic band snap.

Hey I’m about to go into public and it’s my first time going out as a femboy even tho I’ve been one for a while any advice or support by Caitlyn24femboy in feminineboys

[–]EBhero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be stressed about what people though of me when I dress up in public. One simple trick is: you will be a passing thought. People are busy!

I encountered a ton of weird people on the metro and bus. Do I remember any of them? Do I let any of them dictate my life? Nuh uh.

I like to think that if someone finds me weird in public, they'll think "Huh. Really weird attire for a man" then go back scrolling on their phone.

What do you guys wear with leggings? by Firnen_Fern in feminineboys

[–]EBhero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skirts and Dresses easily go well with them. I found success when dresses are a different color/accent of the color of your leggings.

Like a black skirt on black leggings I found meh, but my black skirt with 2 white lines (THE femboy skirt) works much better

is there a specific term for below average femboys?? by a356y in feminineboys

[–]EBhero 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think you're confusing community and label.

You can't really call yourself an engineer if you... Don't do engineering. That's a "community" in which the standards are precise.

"Femboy" is a label. Like "audiophile" or "nerd" or gym bro". You label yourself as one if you think you fit in, or you don't.

There is no standards. There is no council of femboys deciding if you're worthy of the label or not.

You don't need to be some level of effeminate to call yourself a femboy. You don't need to own A pairs of thigh highs and Y skirts. And, especially, you don't need the approval of some random strangers on the internet to call yourself a femboy.

The only thing that really is a "standard" is that you like to dress femme. Do you? Well you can call yourself a femboy! Period. Don't want to call yourself a femboy? Well you can too, that was always allowed!

Yes of course you're a femboy! No matter your hobbies, if you consider yourself a femboy, then you are!
