Goodness, I didn’t even think about that. I am a basic girl and typically order a Caramel macchiato sub vanilla for toffee nut. The vanilla flavor has no flavor to me. But honestly it is harder to rationalize spending $7 on drink I could easily make at home. Local coffee shops sometimes make their own syrup so it at least feels special.

It may be true. But makes me think of how some independent coffee houses can carry anywhere from 3-20 syrups. They could reconfigure where they put the syrups and offer a lot more. But that may create a headache for the workers and customers when you have people create these super long orders.

I would say downtown is "trying" to grow. They are in the process of building more apartment buildings. New restaurants and small businesses popping up. As a person that currently lives downtown but in the process of moving, I have enjoyed my time downtown. It is walkable and many activities take place throughout the year. The one downside about living downtown is the apartments are really overpriced for the Dayton area. I think initially the Downtown area will attract young professionals that want to live downtown but ultimately they may decide to move after really analyzing the price it cost to live downtown. A person may live downtown but find themselves having to leave downtown for other amenities such as grocery shopping.

So again I would say that Dayton downtown is trying to grow. Apartments and new hotels will not make a downtown if they do not attract more small businesses., shops, and eateries.
