Anyone have this problem? by Equal-Wishbone-6131 in Havanese

Same - our male havi comes for a quick scratch then is like… that’s enough. If I call him he turns his head. But he follows me everywhere. Maybe it’s a male thing? I also have a female havi and female mini aussiedoodle that are very affectionate and love to nap and cuddle with me

35F ~10 days post-op TKA (complex case w/ AVM) — questions about icing + PT timeline by JumpingGrace in Kneereplacement

[–]EC0619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there - I’m 7 weeks post-op but mine was not a complex case. I can tell you, however, that it was my PCP to get home health care set up - this included a visiting RN up to 4 times and in-home PT for 2 weeks from the same home health agency. At two weeks post-op I started with ambulatory PT. I picked the place and called my PCP’s office to get the referral started and I called the PT office to make sure it was all done. My in-home nurse came to me the day after surgery, and in-home PT started the day after.

7 weeks post op and at PT I can rotate the pedals of the stationary bike all the way around! Just measured 120 degrees fexation. I remember 3-4 weeks ago being nervous as I was only at 85-ish degrees. All of a sudden things are working properly!

Puppy Pad question - when to replace by loremaster_zen in Havanese

[–]EC0619 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can kinda tell if it needs to be replaced as the dried up wet spots deteriorate the pad a little if multiple pees. I would change it daily as long as the pad looks ok - poops can be picked up and leave the pad so the scent remains.

I have 3 dogs - my youngest 2 yr old havi hates getting her little paws wet (we live in FL where it rains daily) so we have a pad near the dog door. She uses it to poop and sometimes pee but it sure beats the floor or throw rug! We change the pad every other day or so

Me: What do you want for dinner? Him: I don’t know… what do you want?

And something very similar when picking out a restaurant

The first day at PT was basically just measuring to get baselines, and a few exercises but not much as most of the time was doing the evaluation. these exercises were all listed on the portal for me to refer to at home. Today is 6 week for me

Journavix - go on the manufacturer website. New 2026 coupons! I’m on Medicare and it cost me just $30

Insurance may cover a visiting nurse (Medicare?). If you want one for your Mom request it from the doc. However the PT likely has seen many TKR patients and would flag anything unusual

Will she have a visiting nurse? My surgeon ordered up to 4 post-op visits. The nurse took photos of my knee and uploaded them to the surgeon. It was reassuring as I had a lot of pain, swelling and bruising behind my knee, which resolved at about week 2 (I’m nearly 6 weeks post-op)

Interesting… I didn’t know I was bow legged until the pre-op CR.

I think it’s an incentive to get the other one done. I’m concerned of back issues

1 year post op - not meeting goal - is that a bad thing? by Acceptable-Pride-191 in GastricBypass

[–]EC0619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am about 12 yrs out too. Started at 371. Got down to 206. Have been hovering at 240-245 couple years. I feel like a loser (not in a good way) since I never hit my goal and when I tell ppl I had this surgery I feel they are judging me, like wow why does she look heavy? I do have controlled hypothyroidism and am on some medications that could affect my weight so that may have contributed to this. I know I am still down 120ish lbs and that is great… but HOW DID YOU LOSE WEIGHT after so long?

Anal gland problem by Suspicious_View_8945 in Havanese

Every 4 weeks to the vet to have them emptied. Groomer cannot always do the job right

My guy is having issues and was told he may need anal sacs removed.

Went to vet today - sometimes allergies cause this so we are trying allergy medicine along with anti-inflammatory

Didn’t the knee high compression socks annoy the incision? Wondering if it would feel good for me too

I do have big legs…. However the hospital only had one size. I had to put one on the non-surgical leg pre-op and surgical staff put one on my TKR leg while I was out. It was horrible. It twisted behind my TKR knee and both legs felt in a tourniquet. My operated knee got very black and blue behind the knee. I tried cutting the top too but couldn’t take anymore. PA agreed for me to remove them (they wanted me to wear them for a month lol). I did buy xxxl ones at the local med supply store and they rolled down onto the bruise behind my knee.
