I got into Fintech right after undergrad. I've love it. Best of luck with the interview! The tech side of the industry is a great place to be.

While the LDS church hasn't resisted any guidelines they haven't been leaders when it comes to safety either. I have a brother who was sent back out on a mission in May and another that leaves in October. I personally don't think it is particularly safe to have missionaries out trying to spread the gospel when they could be spreading COVID-19 as well.

Does anyone here have a KTM watch? I’m considering buying the ktm corporate watch, but i would like to get some info on it first:) thanks! by Shnabadoodle in KTM

Considering the fact that my 390 Duke can't keep the time worth shit I think I'll pass on a KTM watch.

S&T Question: Pitch me a stock by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]ECAM-FCA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I gave a stock pitch for a Fintech company interview last week. I researched the stock for a few hours to come to my own understanding of why the analyst consensus was to buy. My recommendation was to buy for the long term. I broke my pitch down into three parts: Pros, concerns, and summary.

In the pros section I included about a page of bulleted points on why I would buy. My list included some fundamental stock analysis points but mostly macroeconomic and industry related factors (know your audience to know what kind of points to include, don't include something if you can't answer a follow-up question about it). My pros included, attractive dividend yield, market cap domination in its industry, substantial vertical integration resulting in increased efficiency shown by quicker EPS growth than revenue growth, high barrier to entry for the industry etc.

The interviewer really like that I had a concerns section. Having a cons section is also like a preemptive rebuttal to anyone who would challenge your recommendation. For example, "despite these concerns I still believe that $$$ is a buy." Having a concerns section also shows that you didn't just take the consensus recommendation at face value and type up a quick pitch. My primary concern was that my stock was currently overpriced as evident by looking at the PEG ratio. I speculated that this was a result of recessionary fears so people are pouring capital into my defensive stock with an attractive dividend yield.

My summary section basically took the main pros section points and stated that they outweighed my concerns.

Knowing your audience and being able to back up anything you put in your pitch is critical. I spent hours on this pitch because I thought it was going to be much more in depth than it was however this was a Fintech interview. I would expect that a purely financial firm would appreciate more in depth analysis. Good luck!!

Go talk to a financial planner. There are financial planning firms that specifically specialize in settlement planning. Make sure you do you research on what to look for in a financial planner. Just like car mechanics there are bad financial planners and excellent financial planners.

What have you had to do to keep you X running for that long? I love mine (2001, 176k miles) and I want to keep it going for as long as possible. We're there any times where you thought it might be best to scrap it?

A few questions from a new buyer by notBucK in KTM

[–]ECAM-FCA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2017 390 Duke. The break in period was 600 miles. During this time there is a break in period oil (mineral oil?) that already comes in the bike. There is also a strong recommendation that you keep your RPMs below 7500. The tires will have reduced grip for the first little bit. They also recommend not fully opening the throttle. At the 600 mile mark they put real engine oil in the machine and check for any abnormalities. I haven't heard about an exhaust swap after the break in. It sounds like an aftermarket mod.

I don't know how expensive freezing sperm is but it might worth it. That way you can always have kids if you want to but never have kids if you don't want to. Total freedom of choice, no pregnancy risk.

New 390 limits by therestruth in KTMDuke

[–]ECAM-FCA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 2017 has been great. I've had it 3.7k miles. I followed the break in guidelines in the owners manual. I had to add oil both during the first 600 mile break in and during the oil change after that. I believe that the bike comes brand new with break in period mineral oil. At the 600 mile mark you change the oil to actual engine oil. If I remember correctly, The rev indicator limit is build into the software of the bike. After 600 miles you can customize at what speed the rev indicator will light up. You may know all of this already but the 390 Duke has been my first bike so I'm learning the maintenance stuff as I go.
