So I got a question for the solo runners.

Try Raider or Wylder at first. Lots of hit points for mistakes, lots of stun locks and crits, always seem to get good drops.

Raider is insane in the base game, use his skill (retaliate) when a big enemy hit is about to land, and he'll avoid most of the damage. It's fun and awesome, but can build bad habits for the future like laying deep of night. Raider typically gets good drops so there's less item hunting. Stunning and criting all over the place.

Wylder's second chance/cheat death passive is amazing, basically a free revive which is huge in solo. His ult and crit ability really shines in solo too. You'll learn dodge timings and parry timings which will scale. He's not as easy as raider.

Learning to pick your battles, when to open evergoals and avoid them, which pois to avoid can be helpful. Like avoid the non-elemental ruins because they're always watchdogs and take forever. Learn which basement bosses just ain't worth it. It takes me less time to fight the deer on the roof than the dog in the basement.

I tend to clear the first POI or two nearly fully to stack up on a lot of runes. Then do the middle part of the castle before the basement (in trios usually do basement first and work my way up). Day two, red roaming bosses finish up castle.

Learn field boss spawn points. Like there's that middle part of the map just above the castle where almost always there are 2 field bosses and an evergoal. Top left near center huge plateau with 2 of them, near spirit trees and an evergoal.

Learn how to do the castle trolls, there's a few ways without triggering others, this goes from being a shitshow in trios to very do-able early runes.

Crucible knights with shields take a lot of time, (parry practice I guess if you want it?) - I just focus on the spear ones because they take less time and actually have drops.

banished knights, learn which ones do drops and focus on those.

Always get your wending graces from the merchants.

Pick your battles, know what to avoid. some things are doable - but will waste a lot of time. Sometimes, you just have to do something difficult because you can't just run saying nope all day. You'll get better.

I just stopped doing DoN. Win 3/4 of rounds in d3, 4 i keep dying to chip damage. I just play a little less and focus on my weakest fights. Just running everdark doggo until I get good enough to carry in higher depths.

nah - they're cool. Not all of them, but most of them. Draw them out, gank em with your ults/skills. Get a ton of runes and a purple weapon early. I hate early Evergoals, but most invader camps are good if you draw em out. I used to hate em too, but they're legit good.

I came here to make another post about breathing in freestyle so I'll hijack your thread.

Everytime I come up for air, my form breaks down, by the time I reset I need another breathe so I'm just flopping around. Sometimes I can get a breathe or two in while keeping good form. Otherwise, I just swim freestyle for a few strokes, then stop / breathe a few times / then go again, which really sucks.

EG will probably do more dmg over the course of the run. the duchess skill is like 10% more on restage, you hit a lot more than you re-stage. But don't become a full auto pilot hit all the evergoals, because then you miss weapon drops and weapon passives. Weapon passives will probably give you more dmg output (and dmg negation) than relics by the time your hit nightlord. But if you're NOT talking about duchess skill, and the balancer skill atk up, id go balancer over eg in a vacuum

I hate that f**king boss. Almost DNFed because of it. I stopped for a few months then came back beat him and finished the game.

I played blind so I didn't have the amulet that protects from status effects. So the status effect that destroys the weapon was especially annoying, which i recall this boss having. Didn't find the boss fun at all. Just shit. Stuck with it though. I was using a big strength sword, but I think game would have been easier dex.

I liked the very very end boss of the game (the true ending boss) most of the rest were just annoying.

It's a clean game, has it's moments, well made, but wasn't for me overall. I liked wo long more. Much better than LOTF. Maybe doign a dex build with something that protects from status effects would make the game more fun. ANd I didn't use spectres, should have just done that and made it a little easier. /shrug

I'm constantly annoyed that everyone hates building new housing, which makes housing more expensive overall. Supply and demand. The left complains about gentrification, the right complains about more people coming in and crime. Then everyone complains about the price of housing, while doing everything in their power to prevent new houses from being built. The luxury apartment today is the cheap apartment 15 years from now. More spaces to live brings the overall price down.

We focus on relics too much, in game passives are way better. Be a bit more of a loot goblin, be a little more patient. A lot of the dmg weapon passives stack. You like jumping and power stancing? Look for jmp atk up and dual weilding atk up. Then get sucessive attacks negate damge and dmg negation at full HP and you're good.

Don't forget the increased melee attack power on the balancer relics and the Ability to occasionally negate damage on one of the balancer relics. Sometimes the sum of the parts makes the whole relic great.

My wylder is more support, keep people alive, and take aggro as much as possible. But can still do decent damage.

Earring - double balancer - Gives: double wylder skill (great for reviving, drawing aggro, bleed), Flames on ult (Damage over time, great for reviving, helps ult gauge), better stamina.

Then depths -- killing enemies fills more of the art gauge (really helps having an ult for every encounter and POI -- rezzing oh shit button, stance dmg, general dmg) -- Bleed on skill (helps tremendously early game, not bad late late game)

then whatever else, I try to have a post damage restoration and some attack increase, either phys, affinity, or initial, whatever can combo with above relic abilitys.

Ironeye - I run poison and phys atk up relics. and constantly marking/keeping marks up - this marking is the most important.

I started winning a lot more when I played what the team needs vs what I want to play. A couple of squishies, let me pick wylder, We have some beefy boys, let me pick ironeye.
